Exodus Wallet
Exodus Wallet is a multi-platform self-custodial wallet supporting desktop, mobile, and browser extension implementations with unified seed phrase synchronization. The wallet provides non-custodial asset management across multiple blockchain networks, integrated swap functionality through aggregated liquidity sources, fiat on-ramp and off-ramp services via third-party providers, and native staking mechanisms for supported digital assets. Users maintain complete control of private keys stored locally on their devices while accessing portfolio tracking, transaction management, and NFT support functionality. The implementation includes hardware wallet integration with Trezor devices for enhanced security and passkey-based authentication options.
XO Swap
An API and SDK for developers to integrate multi-chain token swaps into their applications, supporting both DEX aggregation and cross-chain transactions.

Exodus
Exodus is a self-custody cryptocurrency wallet and financial platform that lets individuals manage digital assets across multiple blockchains — including Solana — without handing control of their funds to a third party. Founded in 2015, it is one of the oldest and most widely used non-custodial wallets in the industry, with 1.5 million monthly active users as of early 2026 and a publicly traded parent company on NYSE American (ticker: EXOD).
What Problem It Solves
Mainstream crypto wallets and exchanges require users to trust a centralised custodian with their assets. Exodus takes the opposite position: private keys are generated and encrypted on the user's own device, and Exodus itself has no access to funds. The goal is to make self-custody approachable enough that non-technical users can hold, swap, stake, and spend crypto without relying on a bank or exchange.
How It Works
Exodus stores and encrypts private keys locally using AES-256-GCM encryption. The encryption key is derived from the user's password via PBKDF2, meaning the key never leaves the device in readable form. A 12-word recovery phrase serves as the universal backup.
The wallet is available across desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux), mobile (iOS, Android), and browser extension (Chrome). All three sync with each other.
Solana Integration
Solana is a first-class supported network inside Exodus. The wallet handles SOL natively alongside SPL tokens, with support for the Token-2022 standard.
Staking: Solana staking is available on all three Exodus platforms. Exodus delegates to Everstake by default. Rewards are distributed at the end of each Solana epoch. The minimum stake was updated to 1 SOL in June 2026. Historical staking APY has averaged around 6–7%.
Web3 and dApps: The Exodus browser extension connects directly to Solana dApps using the standard Solana wallet adapter interface.
NFTs: Exodus displays, receives, and sends Solana NFTs natively.
Swaps: The built-in swap aggregator routes across decentralised exchanges. Swap fees start at 0.5%.
Key Features
- Exodus Pay: Launched across all 50 US states, allowing users to spend USD-backed stablecoins and Bitcoin anywhere Visa or Apple Pay is accepted. Exodus acquired UK-regulated payment infrastructure providers Monavate and Baanx to own the card issuance and processing rails.
- Hardware Wallet Pairing: Trezor and Ledger devices can be paired with the Exodus desktop interface.
- Fiat On/Off Ramps: Users can buy and sell crypto via credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
- 24/7 Support: The company provides round-the-clock human support.
Security Model
Because Exodus is non-custodial, security risk is concentrated at the device level. Private keys are never transmitted to Exodus servers. The wallet does not support multi-signature accounts. The core Exodus application is not fully open source, though many underlying libraries are published on GitHub.
Team and Corporate History
Exodus was co-founded by JP Richardson (technology) and Daniel Castagnoli (design, previously at Apple, Disney, Louis Vuitton, and Nike). In April 2021, Exodus raised $60 million through a tokenised equity offering. The company uplisted to NYSE American in December 2024 under the ticker EXOD. Full-year 2025 revenue reached $121.6 million.
Solana Ecosystem Fit
Exodus occupies an accessible entry point into the Solana ecosystem. It is not a Solana-native wallet but a multi-chain interface. For Solana specifically, native SOL staking, SPL token support, dApp connectivity, and NFT management make it a functional general-purpose Solana wallet, particularly for users who also hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other assets they want to manage in one place.
