DEX Screener platform
DEX Screener is a real-time analytics platform for decentralized exchanges, offering price tracking, charting, and customizable alerts across multiple blockchain networks and DEXs.
DEX Screener
DEX Screener is a free, real-time analytics platform for decentralized exchanges. It indexes trade data across more than 70 blockchains and presents it through interactive price charts, token discovery feeds, and portfolio tracking tools. Traders access it without creating an account, and the full feature set -- including advanced charting and API access -- carries no subscription fee.
Founding and Team
Andreas Diegues and Alexandre Bini launched DEX Screener in January 2021. Diegues, a Brazilian entrepreneur who had previously worked in gaming, shifted to crypto after observing the absence of reliable real-time data infrastructure for decentralized markets. The company has remained independent and privately held, with backing from Buckley Ventures and DGF Investimentos. The core team has stayed small, reported at between 8 and 19 people.
The platform has not issued a native token. The DEX Screener documentation explicitly states no DEX Screener token exists.
How the Platform Works
DEX Screener runs a custom-built blockchain indexer that parses raw on-chain logs directly from each supported network. It does not consume external price APIs or rely on third-party data feeds; all pricing, volume, and trade history data flows from the chains themselves. The platform processes this data in real time without human moderation, and advises users to independently verify any information before engaging with a token or smart contract.
Core Features
The charting interface uses TradingView-grade tooling with support for multiple timeframes, candlestick patterns, and technical indicators including moving averages and RSI. A Multicharts layout allows up to 16 synchronized charts to be monitored simultaneously, aimed at traders tracking multiple pairs across different liquidity pools or chains.
Token discovery is a central use case. DEX Screener maintains feeds for trending pairs, newly created pairs, top gainers and losers, and boosted tokens. These feeds update continuously and can be filtered by chain, exchange, or time window. Users can build watchlists, set price alerts, and track percentage-based movements on any monitored pair.
Portfolio tracking is available by pasting a wallet address; the platform reads on-chain holdings and displays open pair exposure without requiring a connection or login.
Direct trading is supported on select chains, routing orders through integrated DEXs from within the platform interface.
Mobile apps for iOS and Android provide the same core experience on mobile, including charting, alerts, and token discovery.
Solana Coverage
Solana is one of DEX Screener's most actively covered networks. The platform aggregates trade data from Raydium, Orca, and other Solana-native DEXs in real time. Pair pages on Solana show live trade feeds, liquidity depth, price history, and volume data drawn directly from on-chain transactions. The token discovery feeds are used heavily in the Solana ecosystem, particularly for identifying newly launched tokens early in their trading history.
Comparisons with other Solana analytics tools position DEX Screener as the primary instrument for price and volume monitoring, with its clean interface and broad DEX coverage cited as strengths. It is considered less comprehensive than tools like Birdeye for holder distribution analysis or wallet behavior tracking, and less suited than Solscan for raw on-chain verification -- but for live price action and pair discovery, it is the most widely referenced tool in the Solana trading community.
Developer API
DEX Screener provides a free public API at 60 requests per minute with no authentication requirement. The API exposes endpoints for:
- Latest token profiles and recently updated profiles
- Trading pair data by chain and pair address
- Token pairs by chain and token address
- Pair search across all indexed chains
- Trending metas and category metadata
- Token boost and ad placement data
The API lets developers build custom integrations including price bots, portfolio trackers, and alerting tools. Documentation is available at docs.dexscreener.com.
Business Model
DEX Screener monetizes through a token promotion marketplace rather than user subscriptions. The primary products are:
Token Boost: Token projects pay to receive elevated visibility on the platform. Boosted tokens display a golden icon, priority placement in search results, and a visible badge on their profile page. Basic Boost packs start at around $100, with multi-day campaigns typically ranging from $300 to $1,500 depending on duration and intensity.
Token Advertising: Banner and featured placement slots for token projects, sold through the DEX Screener Marketplace at marketplace.dexscreener.com.
Enhanced Token Info: A paid product allowing token projects to populate additional metadata fields on their profile pages.
This structure separates paid visibility from organic algorithmic trending. Boosted tokens gain display prominence but do not directly affect the platform's independent trending rankings, according to the platform's documentation.
Revenue figures attributed to the platform vary by source. Crypto venture fund Hashed reported DEX Screener earned more than $50 million in fees. DeFiLlama data cited in industry coverage puts annual revenue above $250 million. The discrepancy likely reflects different measurement windows and methodologies.
Coverage Scope and Limitations
DEX Screener covers Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, Base, and dozens of additional networks. Tron and Tron-native DEXs are explicitly excluded from coverage.
The platform's automated real-time indexing means it surfaces new token pairs quickly, including tokens with little or no liquidity, no audit history, and no established community. DEX Screener does not filter or curate pairs based on safety criteria; the platform processes data without human moderation and users are responsible for their own due diligence before interacting with any listed token.
