About

Birdeye

Birdeye is a crypto trading data aggregator that consolidates on-chain market data — token prices, charts, trade history, wallet analytics, and DEX liquidity — into a unified platform for traders and developers. Founded in April 2021 by Kha Nguyen, former head of product at the Solana block explorer Solscan, Birdeye launched as a Solana-native research tool and has since expanded to cover Solana, Sui, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Optimism, Arbitrum, ZkSync, Avalanche, Polygon, and Base.

The platform serves two distinct audiences: retail traders who use Birdeye's web and mobile applications to research tokens, track portfolios, and discover trading opportunities; and developers and institutions who access Birdeye Data Services (BDS), a separate enterprise API product that exposes the same underlying data through 60+ REST endpoints and more than 10 WebSocket stream types.

Consumer Platform

The core trading interface tracks tokens across 300+ DEXes and AMMs and indexes more than five million tokens. Each token detail page combines real-time price feeds, OHLCV candlestick charts, recent trade history, and liquidity pool breakdowns. Users can monitor multiple charts side-by-side and execute swaps directly on the platform through a Jupiter aggregator integration, removing the need to switch between research and execution tools.

Birdeye's discovery tools are central to the product. Find Gems applies granular filters — total value locked, fully diluted valuation, 24-hour volume, holder counts, and activity metrics including Most Viewed, Most Watched, and Most Trades — to surface emerging or niche tokens across supported chains. A dedicated Trending feed shows the top movers over configurable timeframes. The Launch Explorer monitors more than 20 token launchpads, including PumpFun and BonkFun, capturing newly issued Solana tokens from their earliest moments on-chain.

For users who track specific wallets, Find Trades surfaces recent on-chain transactions across DEXes sortable by value, with an option to add any wallet to a personal Trader Watchlist. The Trader Leaderboard complements this by ranking wallets by performance and exposing the underlying holdings and trade records of high-performing accounts, making it useful for tracking sophisticated participants informed by their on-chain activity.

In August 2026, Birdeye launched a redesigned Wallet Analyzer that centralizes trading performance, daily profit-and-loss, portfolio composition, and transaction history for any Solana wallet address. Users can generate and share daily PnL cards directly from the interface; EVM wallet support was announced as forthcoming. The Insights section adds a top-down perspective by aggregating sector-level data across more than 20 web3 categories — Real World Assets, memecoins, NFTs, DeFi, tokenized equities, and others — enabling capital flow analysis by theme rather than by individual token.

Alerts cover price movement, whale transactions, liquidity changes, and configurable technical signals, delivered as mobile push notifications. Price bots for Discord and Telegram let users query token data through simple slash commands, providing a lightweight integration for community trading channels and group chats without requiring the full platform interface.

Birdeye Data Services

BDS is Birdeye's developer-facing API layer, described by the team as an enterprise-ready platform for accessing real-time blockchain and DeFi data. The service delivers coverage across 10 chains through 60+ REST APIs and more than 10 WebSocket types, with data spanning token pricing and OHLCV, pool and liquidity depth, wallet portfolio composition, realized and unrealized PnL, and individual trade streams — all accessible through a single authenticated API key.

Publicly disclosed customers include Phantom, Raydium, Coinbase, and Bybit, indicating adoption at the infrastructure level among major wallets, DEX protocols, and centralized exchange data teams. The platform also offers an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server built specifically for AI agents, scripts, and automation pipelines, reflecting demand from teams integrating on-chain data into AI-driven trading systems.

BDS pursues a day-one new chain coverage approach. In January 2026, the platform announced full API coverage for Monad — a newly launched EVM-compatible chain — across 39 REST endpoints and 7 WebSocket types before the network reached broad ecosystem adoption. Coverage for Arc Mainnet, scheduled to launch in September 2026, was similarly announced ahead of the network going live. The HyperEVM integration, covering Hyperliquid's EVM environment, added real-time and historical trade data through the same REST and WebSocket interface.

The Wallet PnL API enables applications to query both realized and unrealized gains for any Solana wallet address, exposing programmatic access to the wallet intelligence data that Birdeye also surfaces in its own consumer interface. Birdeye Data publishes independent research citing its data — including analysis of Solana DEX volume market share, stablecoin supply growth, and tokenized asset markets — which has been referenced externally by third-party reporters and data aggregators.

Background and Ecosystem Position

Birdeye's founding team came out of Solscan, which gave the project early familiarity with Solana's on-chain data architecture. The platform aggregated data from Solana's major DEXes — covering 20+ AMMs in its early versions — before the DEX landscape on Solana expanded dramatically through 2023 and 2024. This history anchors the product: Solana-specific tooling, including coverage of Solana launchpads, Solana wallet analytics, and the Jupiter swap integration, remains central even as the platform covers additional chains.

The platform occupies a position comparable to DEX Screener or DexTools for the charting and discovery use case, but with a parallel institutional data business built alongside the consumer interface. While consumer-facing charting tools have proliferated across the industry, Birdeye's BDS layer — serving infrastructure-level customers like Phantom and Raydium — distinguishes it as both an end-user product and a data layer for the broader ecosystem. Its data has been cited independently in Solana market research covering tokenized gold market-cap growth, stablecoin supply tracking, and Solana perps volume figures.
