Solscan

Solscan is a blockchain explorer and analytics platform built for Solana. Launched in April 2021, it gives developers, traders, and researchers a single interface for inspecting on-chain activity — from individual transactions and wallet histories to network-wide DeFi volumes, token supply data, and validator performance.

Origins and Ownership

Le Ho and Long Vuong, a Vietnamese duo based in Singapore, founded Solscan in 2021 to address a practical problem: Solana's early on-chain data was difficult to read, and the existing tools surfaced little beyond raw bytes. In September 2021 the project raised a $4 million seed round from Multicoin Capital, Alameda Research, and Electric Capital. In January 2024, Etherscan acquired Solscan, bringing it into the same company that operates the dominant Ethereum explorer. The acquisition kept the product focused on Solana's architecture rather than attempting to merge it with the Ethereum tooling.

Transaction Decoding

The core function of the explorer is decoding raw Solana transactions into human-readable form. For each transaction, Solscan exposes both a summary view and the full instruction logs, making it possible to trace exactly which programs were called and in what order. Users can search by transaction signature, wallet address, token mint, block number, or NFT identifier. This decoded output is why wallet applications and DeFi frontends routinely link to Solscan for on-chain verification — it saves users from having to interpret raw instruction data themselves.

Account and Wallet Analytics

Account views go well beyond a simple balance display. Solscan shows portfolio holdings, stake accounts, a real-time activity feed, and a full history of on-chain behavior, with address labels and alerts for flagged or suspicious addresses. Wallet-level portfolio tracking has expanded in recent years to cover profit-and-loss analysis, pushing into territory that dedicated analytics platforms previously owned.

Token and NFT Data

The token explorer covers SPL tokens with supply and holder metrics, full transfer histories, and historical price and volume data. NFT tools display collections and their associated metadata. Stablecoin analytics provide a dedicated breakdown for issued stablecoins, including market cap, holder counts, transaction volumes, and supply distribution by issuer.

DeFi and On-Chain Market Data

DeFi dashboards aggregate TVL and trading volumes across programs, and a launchpad tracker organizes new token issuances by creator and launch history. Whale monitoring surfaces large on-chain transfers, trades, and stake movements as they happen. A transaction simulation tool lets users preview a transaction's outcome before signing it. Scam detection flags addresses with known malicious associations.

Network and Validator Statistics

Network-level statistics include real-time throughput, block production metrics, and priority fee levels tracked at minimum, average, and maximum. Validator data covers stake distribution and uptime across the active set, giving stakers a basis for comparing validator performance.

Developer Access

Solscan offers API endpoints for developers building applications on top of its indexed data, and supports CSV and JSON export for offline analysis. The platform also provides Explorer-as-a-Service for teams that want to embed the explorer directly in their own products.

Recent Product Development

In July 2025, Solscan shipped an instruction filter that allows users to search DeFi events by program instruction type — enabling targeted lookups such as all pool creation events or all liquidity withdrawals for a given protocol over any time window. By May 2026, full historical data across indexed accounts and tokens became accessible for deep analysis of token transfers and whale behavior.

In August 2026, Solscan announced Solscan Data Intelligence, described as a unified dashboard built from fully indexed, labeled, and classified Solana data. At launch the product cited 92.69 million tokens, 121.83 million labels, and 330.64 million accounts funded in the prior 30 days.

Ecosystem Position

Solscan is cited by multiple independent sources as the most widely adopted and feature-complete Solana block explorer. Its integration with wallets, DeFi frontends, and developer tooling makes it a default reference point for on-chain verification across the ecosystem. Since the Etherscan acquisition, the platform has extended beyond its original role as an explorer and built out an analytics layer — indexing, labeling, and classifying Solana's on-chain history at scale.
