Bitwise's Solana SOL$93.64+3.4% staking ETF attracted $20 million in net inflows for the week ending August 21, per SoSoValue data as reported by Crypto Briefing, double the prior week's $10.26 million and the fund's strongest weekly result since May. Total net assets stood at $770 million as of August 19, with 8,460,901 SOL held in trust, per the official BSOL fund site. SOL touched an intraday high above $100 on August 22, its first breach of that level since February.

August 20 Single Session Drives $15M of the Weekly Total

The week's inflows were concentrated on a single session. August 20 generated $15 million in net inflows, the largest daily intake in three weeks, per Farside Investors data as reported by Bitcoinist. That figure exceeds the August 10 single-day record of $8.8 million that had previously marked BSOL's largest daily haul. With $15 million of the $20 million weekly total arriving on August 20 alone, the remaining four sessions contributed roughly $5 million combined.

The pattern mirrors earlier August behavior: a large burst from an institutional-scale order drives most of the weekly total, while surrounding sessions remain quiet or post modest outflows. The prior week's $10.26 million, itself the best result since May, followed a similar shape.

BSOL Net Assets at $770M With 8.46 Million SOL in Trust

The BSOL fund site showed net assets of $770 million as of August 19, with an NAV of $11.95 per share. The fund's SOL holdings reached 8,460,901 tokens as ongoing inflows are deployed. At $770 million in AUM, BSOL sits roughly $230 million short of the $1 billion milestone Bitwise cited in its fee structure disclosures at launch.

H1 2026 brought $267.1 million in cumulative net inflows, as covered in the H1 2026 analysis published here. The July and August pace has been materially faster than the H1 monthly average of roughly $44.5 million, though both months were driven by concentrated single-day surges rather than steady daily demand.

How a 5.83% Net Yield Flows Through Helius hSOL$111.17+3.6% Validator Delegation

BSOL targets 100% of its SOL holdings staked at all times, a structural difference from spot ETFs that hold assets without seeking yield. Staking is conducted through Bitwise Onchain Solutions, which uses Helius hSOL$111.17+3.6% technology, per Bitwise's newsroom. The fund captures three reward streams: inflation rewards, MEV rewards, and block rewards, each net of staking-related costs.

The current gross staking reward rate is 6.20% annually, per bsoletf.com. After the 0.20% sponsor fee and staking-related costs, the net reward rate stands at 5.83%. That 0.37 percentage-point spread is the total cost drag shareholders absorb in exchange for regulated, custodied access to Solana network staking rewards without running validator infrastructure themselves.

Coinbase Custody holds the SOL, Bank of New York Mellon serves as administrator, and KPMG handles audit duties. The fund is not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, meaning investors lack protections that traditional ETF shareholders receive under that framework.

Bitwise and Superstate are also exploring tokenizing BSOL's ETF shares on-chain, a partnership announced in mid-August that would allow institutional holders to represent their ETF positions as blockchain-native tokens with identical economic rights to DTC-held shares.

What Two Back-to-Back Strong Weeks Signal for Institutional Demand

BSOL launched on October 28, 2025, drawing $69.5 million on its debut day and crossing $500 million in AUM within 18 trading days, per Bitwise's newsroom. After that opening surge, weekly inflows moderated considerably through H1 2026, averaging well below the launch-week pace. The consecutive strong weeks ($10.26 million then $20 million) mark the clearest sign of renewed institutional engagement since the launch period.

The 5.83% net staking yield differentiates BSOL structurally from a spot SOL ETF, offering regulated, custodied staking exposure without requiring shareholders to operate validator infrastructure. The back-to-back inflow weeks are the clearest demand signal since the launch period, consistent with the income-seeking allocation activity that the fund's staking structure is built to attract.
