Bitwise Rebrands Ledger Wallet Validators From Chorus One to 'Ledger by Bitwise' on Solana, Cosmos, and Injective
Bitwise rebranded its Ledger Live validators from 'Ledger by Chorus One' to 'Ledger by Bitwise' on Solana, Cosmos, and Injective. Fees and rewards unchanged.
Bitwise Asset Management has renamed the Ledger Wallet validators it operates on three proof-of-stake networks. Validators previously displayed as "Ledger by Chorus One" inside the Ledger Live app now read "Ledger by Bitwise" on Solana, Cosmos Hub, and Injective, completing the identity integration that began with the February 2026 acquisition of Chorus One.
The rebrand is cosmetic. According to CryptoBriefing's coverage: "Same validator infrastructure. Same fees. Same rewards mechanics." Stakers who delegated through Ledger Live do not need to take any action. The one operational shift is that applicable terms of service have moved from the prior Chorus One agreement to the Bitwise Onchain Solutions Terms of Service, per Ledger's support documentation.
What Changed in Ledger Live
The validators affected are a specific set co-branded under the Ledger partnership, surfaced as default staking options inside Ledger Live for hardware wallet users. On Solana, the change has been committed to the Ledger Live open-source repository as a display-name update and a revision to delegation end-to-end test inputs. The public Ledger Live pull request replaces every instance of "Ledger by Chorus One" with "Ledger by Bitwise."
The label change applies to Solana (SOL), Cosmos Hub (ATOM), and Injective (INJ). Other Chorus One validators operating outside the Ledger partnership are not directly affected by this particular announcement.
The $2.2B Chorus One Acquisition: February 2026 Background
Bitwise announced the purchase of Chorus One on February 19, 2026. Founded in 2018, Chorus One had grown to manage approximately $2.2 billion in staked assets across more than 30 proof-of-stake networks, making it one of the largest multi-chain institutional staking operators in the industry. The acquisition added 50 technology professionals to Bitwise and grew the firm to nearly 200 employees worldwide.
The deal price was not disclosed. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods served as exclusive financial advisor to Bitwise.
Chorus One co-founder Brian Crain transitioned to an advisory role. In the Chorus One announcement, Crain described the move as a natural fit: "Joining Bitwise is a natural evolution; they share our DNA of excellence." Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley framed staking as a core revenue opportunity: "For our thousands of clients who hold spot crypto assets, staking is one of the most compelling growth opportunities."
Bitwise Onchain Solutions as Institutional Staking Infrastructure
Chorus One was folded into Bitwise Onchain Solutions (BOS), the firm's dedicated institutional staking division. BOS had already supported several billion dollars in staked crypto assets before the acquisition; the Chorus One addition expanded its coverage to more than 30 proof-of-stake networks.
BOS has since continued to add capabilities. In early 2026, the Ethereum Foundation selected Bitwise Onchain Solutions to develop and maintain Dirk and Vouch, the open-source clients underpinning the Foundation's plan to stake approximately 70,000 ETH from its treasury, according to Bitwise's newsroom. BOS has also launched non-custodial staking support for Starknet.
Bitwise manages over $15 billion in total client assets and has positioned BOS as non-custodial staking infrastructure for institutional clients, including family offices, financial platforms, and crypto-native allocators seeking proof-of-stake yields.
What It Means for Solana Delegators
For Ledger Live users currently staked through the former "Ledger by Chorus One" validator on Solana, nothing changes operationally. The validator node, its commission structure, and its reward schedule continue as before. The rebrand is a branding update that reflects Bitwise having absorbed the Chorus One infrastructure and is now labeling it under its own name.
The July 31 announcement marks roughly five months since the acquisition closed, a timeline that suggests the integration proceeded without disrupting the underlying staking infrastructure.
For the broader context on Bitwise's institutional footprint in Solana staking, the firm's Q3 2026 Staking Report covers tokenized equity growth and DeFi lending expansion on the network.
