Glow

Glow is a non-custodial, Solana-only cryptocurrency wallet built by Luma Labs, Inc. It is available as a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Brave, and as a native application for iOS and Android. The project launched around December 2021, positioning itself as a design-forward alternative to existing Solana wallets at a time when few polished consumer-grade options existed. Solana co-founder Raj Gokal publicly endorsed the project at launch with the remark: "Great designers are finally coming to crypto."

Luma Labs was co-founded by Dan Liu (CEO) and Victor Pont. Liu is a designer and engineer focused on user experience in consumer applications; Luma as a company originally operated as an online events platform before the team built Glow as a separate Solana-native product. No public funding rounds have been announced; the company appears to have operated without a disclosed external investment.

Product Scope

Glow is deliberately limited to the Solana ecosystem. It does not support Ethereum, Bitcoin, or any other blockchain. This focus allows the team to optimize for Solana-specific functionality and user experience patterns rather than building generic cross-chain tooling.

The wallet operates as a self-custody solution: users hold their own private keys. Keys on mobile are stored in device Keychain with an optional iCloud backup. Biometric authentication via Touch ID and Face ID is supported on compatible devices. The browser extension and mobile app synchronize state across platforms.

Core Features

Zero-fee token swaps. Glow provides in-app token swaps across Solana SPL tokens without charging a fee on top of network costs. This is integrated directly into the wallet interface rather than requiring users to navigate to an external decentralized exchange.

SOL staking. Users can stake SOL natively within the wallet to earn staking rewards. The staking interface is built into the main app flow.

NFT explorer. The wallet includes an NFT browsing interface that allows users to view their collectibles, filter by trait and price, and see recent marketplace transaction history. Animated NFT formats are supported.

Spam token management. Glow includes a spam token burner that allows users to close token accounts for unwanted or unsolicited airdrops. Closing token accounts releases the rent reserve back to the user as SOL.

Transaction simulation. Every transaction is simulated before it is submitted to the network. Glow automatically flags or blocks requests that appear suspicious or potentially malicious. This is a security-oriented feature aimed at protecting users from phishing and drainer contracts.

Safari extension. On iOS, Glow provides a Safari browser extension, enabling users to interact with Solana decentralized applications — including Magic Eden, Jupiter, Raydium, and Exchange Art — directly within the Safari browser without switching to a separate in-app browser.

Hardware wallet support. Glow supports Ledger Nano X signing via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), allowing users to use a hardware device as the signing authority while using Glow as the interface layer.

NFT minting. The application includes a built-in NFT minting tool that allows users to mint collectibles from a photo or a Stable Diffusion AI-generated image. This functionality is available within the app without requiring external tooling.

Bug bounty program. Glow operates a bug bounty program with rewards of up to $250,000 for valid security disclosures.

Developer Integration

Glow publishes a JavaScript SDK for developers who want to integrate wallet connectivity into their applications. The SDK consists of two packages:

• @glow-xyz/glow-client — core client library for detecting wallet presence, initiating sign-in flows, connecting to the wallet, and submitting transactions
• @glow-xyz/glow-react — React wrapper around the core client

The SDK follows a standard pattern: detect installation, prompt connection, authenticate, then perform on-chain actions. Documentation is hosted at docs.glow.app.

On-Chain Programs

Glow has two programs registered on Solana mainnet. The main wallet product is deployed at noteD9tEFTDH1Jn9B1HbpoC7Zu8L9QXRo7FjZj3PT93. A secondary program at GLoW6kDXmQHFjtQQ44ccmXjosqrKkE54bVbUTA4bA3zs is classified as a Decentralised Identity product in open beta.

Market Position and Reception

Independent reviewers in 2026 generally characterize Glow as a clean, polished option for Solana users who prioritize user experience over cross-chain flexibility. CryptoAdventure's April 2026 review noted that "Glow remains one of the clearest Solana-only wallet choices in 2026 because it knows exactly what it is trying to improve," citing the anti-spam design, transaction simulation, and mobile coherence as strengths, while flagging the Solana-only scope and limited hardware wallet support as constraints for some users. Soladex rated it 4.3 out of 5 as of July 2026, noting its low learning curve for new users.

Glow is not known to have suffered security incidents or exploits. No shutdown announcement has been made. The project was not included in reports covering crypto project shutdowns during H1 2026, which affected competitors including Magic Eden Wallet (sunsetting Q1 2026), Leap Wallet (shut down May 2026), and CTRL Wallet (winding down August 2026).

The @glowwallet Twitter account showed no activity in the most recent 72-hour monitoring window, and app store update activity appears to have slowed since early 2023 according to some review sources. The official website, documentation, and app store listings remained active as of August 2026.

No native token has been issued by Glow. No governance mechanism or tokenomics are publicly documented.
