Blinks

Blinks converts blockchain actions into shareable URLs that unfurl into interactive transaction interfaces across websites, social media, and applications. The system detects action URLs and renders transaction previews, allowing users to execute onchain operations without platform redirects. Blinks supports multi-step action chaining, parameter inputs, and transaction preview with wallet signature integration.

Dialect Protocol implements decentralized messaging infrastructure through Solana programs, enabling wallet-to-wallet communications and dApp notifications. The protocol provides low-latency message delivery using onchain addressing while maintaining message content storage off-chain. The system processes wallet authentication, encrypted data transmission, and notification routing while supporting integration with messaging backends and front-end frameworks.

About

Dialect

Dialect is developer infrastructure for Web3 user experience, built primarily on Solana. Founded in 2021 by Chris Osborn, the project started as a smart messaging protocol — giving wallets the ability to send actionable, context-aware notifications triggered by on-chain events. Over time, Dialect's scope expanded from messaging into a broader platform it now calls the complete UX stack for Web3, encompassing embeddable blockchain transactions, real-time alert delivery, and live market data. The company placed fifth in the web3 track of Solana's IGNITION Hackathon in 2021 and raised a 4.1 million USD seed round in early 2022 led by Multicoin Capital and Jump Crypto, with additional backing from Foundation Capital, Electric Capital, Y Combinator, and Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal — a roster that reflects Dialect's tight alignment with Solana's core ecosystem from the beginning. Blinks, short for Blockchain Links, are the signature product: they transform a URL into an interactive transaction, so a user encountering a Blink on social media, in an email, or embedded in a dApp can complete a swap, a stake, a purchase, or a governance vote without navigating away. Dialect built Blinks in collaboration with the Solana Foundation as the reference implementation of the Solana Actions standard, which means wallets and platforms can render them natively without custom per-protocol integrations. Adoption has been substantial: nearly 600 Blinks are live across the Solana ecosystem, with integrators including Jupiter, Jito, Magic Eden, Tensor, Drift, Phantom, Backpack, and Hedgehog. Miniblinks (October 2024) deliver a more compact rendering optimized for tighter contexts; that same month Dialect shipped action chaining, advanced input types, versioning, and multichain support. Backpack Wallet added native Blinks support to both mobile and browser extension in December 2024. Blinks expanded to Monad testnet in February 2025, and Dialect also supports EVM-compatible chains. Dialect's Alerts product provides a full notification stack with multi-channel delivery across in-app feeds, email, and push notifications. Developers configure event monitors for on-chain conditions — a wallet approaching a liquidation threshold, a governance proposal going live, a token transfer completing — and Dialect handles routing across channels. The system includes a Universal Inbox component that aggregates notifications from all subscribed protocols into a single feed, with each notification carrying rich metadata including icons, titles, and call-to-action links. A no-code dashboard lets protocol teams configure notification types without writing custom backend infrastructure; REST APIs and React SDKs are also available for programmatic control. More than 30 dApps and wallets across Solana and Aptos use Dialect's notification infrastructure. A third product pillar, Markets and Positions, provides real-time lending data, market rates, and position tracking for Solana's lending protocols. It is tightly integrated with Blinks, so a position alert can embed a one-click action to add collateral or repay a loan directly from the notification — eliminating the round-trip to a separate dApp interface. Dialect packages all three products under a unified developer platform with API keys, SDKs, a React library, and a no-code management dashboard, designed to be adoptable incrementally. The codebase is open source under the dialectlabs GitHub organization. The framework supports Solana, Aptos, and EVM chains. In the Solana developer stack, Dialect functions less like a consumer product and more like a communication primitive — analogous to what Twilio did for SMS in web2 or what The Graph did for data indexing in Ethereum. The depth of adoption among top-tier Solana protocols, combined with the co-development relationship with the Solana Foundation on the Solana Actions standard, positions Dialect as a foundational UX layer on Solana and increasingly across multiple chains.
