Solana hit 1.318 billion non-vote transactions last week, a new ATH that breaks the prior weekly record and marks four consecutive weeks above one billion.

Solana processed 1.318 billion non-vote transactions in a single week, the highest weekly count the network has recorded, according to Token Terminal data cited in the official @solana announcement. The figure breaks the record set in the prior week and marks the fourth consecutive week the count has exceeded one billion.

What Non-Vote Transactions Measure on Solana

Solana proof-of-stake consensus requires validators to cast vote transactions every slot, confirming block state to keep the validator set aligned. Those messages are structurally high-frequency: their volume scales with the number of active validators and the pace of the slot clock, not with user demand. Non-vote transactions are everything else: on-chain activity generated by users and applications, including DEX swaps, stablecoin transfers, token operations, NFT trades, and program calls invoked by wallets, protocols, and automated systems.

The non-vote count functions as the standard reference for real network load because it filters out that consensus overhead. When the weekly figure first crossed one billion in early July, it marked the first time genuine user activity had sustained the network at that level for a full week. The 1.318 billion count is 31.8% above that initial threshold.

Averaged across seven days, 1.318 billion non-vote transactions works out to approximately 2,178 non-vote transactions per second sustained continuously throughout the week. DEX trading, stablecoin settlement, tokenized asset transfers, and routine application program calls collectively contribute to that pace. None of those activity types require a single triggering event to generate volume; they scale with the number of active wallets and deployed programs producing on-chain instructions.

Four Consecutive Weeks Above One Billion Transactions

The current run began around the week of August 3, shortly after SIMD-0286 activated on July 29 and raised the per-block compute limit from 60 million to 100 million compute units. That 66% ceiling increase allows more user instructions to fit within each block without extending slot times, directly expanding the transaction volume the network can absorb per unit of time.

Capacity gains appeared within days. Six days after SIMD-0286 activated, Solana recorded a daily non-vote count of 169.9 million transactions, a daily record at the time, per Blockworks on-chain analytics. The elevated daily counts that followed aggregated into weekly totals above one billion for each of the four periods since.

Solana weekly non-vote transactions, four consecutive weeks (billions)

Solana's weekly non-vote transaction count rose from 1.01 billion in the week ending August 2 to 1.31 billion in the week ending August 23, per Solana Compass network data, with the steepest climb in the final week.

Per Solana Compass network data, the four weekly totals climbed from 1.01 billion to 1.08 billion, 1.10 billion, and 1.31 billion, each week setting a new high. Four consecutive weeks of progressively higher counts carry a different signal than a single-week spike: that steady progression indicates the underlying transaction demand has grown week-over-week rather than concentrating around one event and pulling back.

What Drove the 1.318 Billion Weekly Non-Vote Record

The 1.318 billion weekly figure reflects both the expanded per-block ceiling from SIMD-0286 and the accumulated growth of the Solana application ecosystem through August. One billion non-vote transactions per week was new territory in July; adding a further 31.8% in six weeks points to consistent demand from DeFi protocols, tokenized asset trading, and developer-deployed programs that have continued building user bases throughout the period.

Solana's development roadmap includes further slot-time reductions under SIMD-0525, targeting a path toward 200 milliseconds per slot. Whether those infrastructure improvements translate into continued weekly non-vote records will depend on whether application demand scales alongside the additional capacity they would provide.

Token Terminal's transaction count dashboard tracks the weekly figures as they come in, the primary reference for whether the 1.318 billion week extends in subsequent periods.
