Arbital, a Solana-native trading terminal, opened to the public on August 21, ending seven months of invitation-only access. During that private period, the platform processed more than $1.35 billion in trading volume across 2,700 traders, according to the company's launch announcement.

The platform combines three asset classes that have historically required separate applications on Solana: memecoin spot trading, tokenized equities, and perpetual futures. "Trade memes. Trade stocks. Trade perps. Market make. All in one place," the company wrote in its public launch post.

From Aevo Alumni to Y Combinator: The Team Behind Arbital

Arbital was founded in 2025 by three engineers, Karon Pangestu, Steven Mulyawan, and Vincent Owen Toniwan, who previously built backend infrastructure at Aevo, helping scale that derivatives exchange from roughly $1 billion to $100 billion in cumulative trading volume, according to Y Combinator. Y Combinator backed the team in its Summer 2026 batch.

The private beta ran for seven months before today's public launch. In that window, Arbital said monthly volume reached $435 million, with a single-day peak of $41 million. The team of three operated the platform throughout, with backend infrastructure the company says handles 100,000 events per second at under two milliseconds of latency.

Three Markets in One Interface: Memecoins, Tokenized Stocks, and Perps

The platform's memecoin section surfaces trading opportunities with filtering by market cap and volume, sitting inside the same interface as the platform's equity and derivatives markets.

For tokenized equities, Arbital integrates with xStocks AAPLx$313.15-1.6%, the regulated tokenized stock issuer whose catalog covers more than 640 global stocks and ETFs, available for 24/7 trading on Solana. The platform's stock coverage includes US equities alongside Korean and Chinese-listed companies, a point Arbital specifically highlighted in its launch post. Positions are non-custodial: assets remain in user wallets rather than on a centralized balance sheet.

The perpetuals market supports up to 40x leverage across crypto assets and equity-linked instruments including NVDA and TSLA. Arbital also operates Arbital MM, a market-making module that the company says routes automated strategies across more than 14 perpetual DEXes on Solana.

Launching Into Solana's Maturing Trading Landscape

Arbital's public launch arrives as Solana's tokenized equity market has expanded sharply this year. In Q2 2026, tokenized stock DEX volume on Solana hit $5.8 billion, a 114% jump over the prior quarter, with the network capturing roughly 95% of all on-chain equity trading volume globally, per RWA.xyz data. xStocks holds 58% of tokenized equity DeFi deposits across 15 Solana applications, according to the same Q2 data.

In perpetuals, the picture is more competitive. Phoenix crossed $1 billion in all-time trading volume in late July, reached without token incentives, then launched a $420,000 USDC rewards program the same week. Earlier this month, Flash Trade, a bootstrapped Solana perps exchange, wound down after three years, citing team fracture and the financial strain of self-funding through a downcycle. The closure concentrates the perps market further around well-capitalized venues including Phoenix, Jupiter JUP$0.201+6.6%, and Drift.

Arbital's positioning differs from those venues. The company presents itself as a terminal and aggregator layer rather than a standalone order book. Arbital MM routes market-making strategies across existing DEXes, which means the platform's perpetuals activity depends on partner liquidity rather than the platform operating its own pools. That is a structural choice: broader reach from day one, but less direct control over execution quality as volume scales.

The private-beta numbers, $1.35 billion across 2,700 traders in seven months of closed access, are Arbital's case that consolidating memecoins, stocks, and perps in one non-custodial terminal holds attention better than switching between specialized apps. The platform is now making that case in public, competing against every aggregator, DEX front end, and terminal already operating on the network.
