Super Phoenix DAO

Offering access and ownership to the citizens of Star Atlas

About

Super Phoenix DAO

Super Phoenix DAO is a community organization operating inside the Star Atlas Metaverse on the Solana blockchain. Where most Star Atlas guilds orient themselves around combat or resource extraction, Super Phoenix DAO takes a different approach: it centers its entire identity on a single, extraordinary in-game asset — the Fimbul ECOS Superphoenix Titan ship — and uses that vessel as the foundation for a member-owned virtual entertainment district.

The Superphoenix Titan Ship

The Fimbul ECOS Superphoenix is the largest starship in Galia, the fictional universe of Star Atlas. Its dimensions are enormous even by the standards of a game built around capital-scale space combat: roughly 5,000 meters in length, 2,200 meters in width, and 1,100 meters in height. The ship supports 341 player stations spread across 22 distinct crew roles, ranging from commanders and captains to pilots and specialists.

That scale is central to the DAO's concept. Rather than deploying the ship purely as a combat platform, Super Phoenix DAO intends to convert its vast interior into a virtual social and entertainment hub — a kind of floating city within Star Atlas that members collectively own and govern.

Shared Ownership Through NFT Membership

Access to the ship and a voice in its governance are distributed through the Core Data Cube NFT collection. These NFTs serve as membership credentials, granting holders rewards, benefits, and exclusive access to the ship's amenities. The collection was structured to provide a path to shared ownership, making the Superphoenix Titan's interior spaces accessible to a broad base of participants rather than a single centralized owner.

The NFT presale launched on June 26, 2024. Post-sale, the DAO introduced the EMBER token as its primary utility token, distributed to NFT holders as an initial means of seeding the community treasury and aligning long-term incentives.

Virtual Entertainment Vision

The DAO's roadmap for the ship's interior spans several distinct use-case categories:

Beach Resort Hospitality: Virtual hotels, spas, and beachfront cabana spaces designed for social gathering inside the metaverse.

Sports and Recreation: Virtual arenas and park spaces intended to host competitive events and informal gameplay.

Entertainment Venues: Theaters, concert halls, museums, and an aquarium, positioning the ship as a cultural destination within Star Atlas.

Racing and Gaming: Tournament infrastructure for competitive racing and ship-to-ship combat events.

Dining and Social: Bars and restaurants offering limited-edition NFT items alongside standard social experiences.

The vision draws a deliberate parallel to real-world destination entertainment — a resort complex that happens to exist inside a blockchain game.

Governance Structure

Super Phoenix DAO is managed by ECOS SP Holdings, LC, the legal entity that launched the project. Within that framework, the DAO operates with elected leadership and established bylaws. Token and NFT holders participate in governance decisions through distributed voting, with the stated goal of keeping decision-making democratized across the membership base rather than concentrated in the founding entity.

Super Phoenix Sports

Alongside its core governance and ownership activities, the DAO operates a competitive arm called Super Phoenix Sports. This division hosts Star Atlas tournaments, most notably the Clash of Titans series — a Star Shooter event structured around a dual-prizing model that splits prize pools between direct player winnings and a betting bracket pool, with payouts issued in SOL. In 2026, Super Phoenix Sports proposed DAO funding for the Triad Tournament, a June 2026 event covering all three Unreal Engine 5 game modes in Star Atlas: Racing Mode, Gun Mode, and Siege Mode.

Team

The project was founded by Craig Mahoney, who goes by the handle Njord in the Star Atlas community. Mahoney brings a background in commercial finance, having managed portfolios exceeding ten billion dollars, and focuses on applying blockchain and data science tools to community financial structures. The wider team includes Arktype, a multidisciplinary creative professional handling art, animation, and motion graphics, along with three software engineers: James Pacheco, credited with building formal educational content on the Solana developer ecosystem; Christian Krueger, a Solana program developer with three years of on-chain experience; and Mohammed, a software engineer with over four years of experience in production environments.

The project has cultivated guild and community partnerships within the Star Atlas player base, including a collaboration with Unboxed, and maintains a presence on Galia Merchants, Star Atlas's officially licensed merchandise store, where Super Phoenix DAO-branded physical apparel is available.

Solana Infrastructure

All Super Phoenix DAO operations run on Solana. The choice reflects both Star Atlas's native infrastructure — the game itself is built on Solana — and the practical requirements of the DAO's NFT and token economy: fast finality, low transaction costs, and compatibility with the broader Star Atlas asset ecosystem. NFT minting, EMBER token distribution, and staking mechanisms all operate on-chain.

Context Within Star Atlas

Star Atlas is a space-exploration MMO that has been in phased development for several years, building toward a full Unreal Engine 5 release. During that development window, the in-game economy — including ship ownership, land claims, and resource markets — has been active, allowing projects like Super Phoenix DAO to establish community structures and asset positions ahead of the game's full launch. Super Phoenix DAO occupies a particular niche within that ecosystem: a community that bet early on the social and entertainment potential of owning the game's largest capital ship, rather than treating it as a pure combat or yield-generating asset.
