MixMob

MixMob is a Solana-built card strategy racing game that fuses the tactical depth of Clash Royale with the competitive speed of Mario Kart. Players pilot customizable MixBot NFTs around high-speed tracks, deploying real-time card decks to attack rivals, defend their position, and trigger remix abilities — all while competing for token rewards in a free-to-play ecosystem backed by more than $10.5 million in venture capital.

Gameplay: Cards Meet the Circuit

MixMob: Racer 1 is the platform's debut title, positioning itself as the world's first card battle racer. Races take place in arena-style environments where players select decks of cards before each match and play them at speed during the race. Cards grant offensive capabilities (attacking nearby racers), defensive tools (blocking or countering incoming plays), and remix effects that alter track conditions or character abilities on the fly.

The game runs on Solana and is playable on iOS, Android, and web browsers at uprising.mixmob.io. A beta launched in early January 2024 and the full global release followed in March 2025, with ongoing seasonal updates introducing new tracks, masks, MixBots, and competitive leagues.

MixMob is built around three player archetypes: Gamers who earn by racing and winning, Supporters who back other racers through the M3LEE prediction platform and collect a share of winnings, and Degens who participate primarily through token staking. This multi-mode design broadens the platform's appeal beyond the competitive racing core.

NFTs: Masks, MixBots, and the Stormtrooper

MixMob's NFT identity begins with its Gen0 Masks, a founding collection of 5,000 pieces minted in December 2021 at 2 SOL each. Mask holders established early community membership and have retained airdrop and access privileges through subsequent launches.

The primary playable NFTs are MixBots — fully modular characters constructed from six interchangeable parts: face, body, shoulders, arms, and legs. Each combination creates a unique racer with its own aesthetic and in-game attributes. A MixBot sale in late 2023 moved 9,000 NFTs in 12 minutes, generating over $2.25 million. The sale drew support from prominent Solana communities including BONK!, Mad Lads, and Neo Tokyo.

In February 2024, MixMob secured a licensing deal to integrate the Original Stormtrooper from Star Wars: A New Hope as an NFT collectible and playable character within Racer 1. Notably, the license was not brokered with Disney or Lucasfilm, but with Shepperton Design Studios and original prop maker Andrew Ainsworth, who retains intellectual property rights over the costume design from the 1977 film. MixMob described this as the first of four planned IP licenses for 2024, signalling a broader strategy of integrating recognizable pop culture figures into its remix-culture identity.

All NFTs trade on Magic Eden, with 75,000 unique asset owners recorded across the ecosystem.

Token Economy: MXM and SUD$

MixMob operates a dual-token system designed to separate governance from in-game commerce.

MXM is the platform's Solana-based governance token, launched via token generation event on February 1, 2024. It listed simultaneously on Bybit, KuCoin, and decentralized venues including Raydium, Orca, and Jupiter. An initial airdrop of 63 million MXM tokens went to MixBot NFT holders and Racer 1 beta participants, with Solana Saga smartphone holders receiving a separate allocation. MXM holders can stake for up to 30% earnings annual rate, participate in governance decisions, operate or manage Turbo Arenas (community-run racing pools), and access revenue sharing from platform activity. As of mid-2025, approximately 75,000 addresses hold MXM, 20% of the circulating supply is staked, and 11.5 million tokens have been burned.

SUD$ (also written as SUDS) is a soulbound in-game currency earned through race winnings and used for in-game transactions. The soulbound design prevents SUD$ from being freely traded on secondary markets, deliberately insulating MXM's price from the volatility of in-game activity — a structural choice that reflects the team's thinking about sustainable token design.

Turbo Arenas extend this economy further: community members can deploy MXM to establish and operate competitive race pools, collecting a portion of entry fees from the matches they host.

Team and Funding

MixMob was founded in 2021 by a team of veteran game developers. The core team includes people with credits on major franchises including Halo, FIFA, Battlefield, Nintendo properties, PokerStars, Disney, Nike, and Adidas — a genuinely experienced group with both traditional games and entertainment IP backgrounds.

The project raised a reported $7 million in February 2022 from a syndicate led by DeFiance Capital, with participation from Solana Ventures, Morningstar Ventures, Ascensive Assets, and Not3Lau Capital. Individual backers included BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes, Illuvium co-founder Kieran Warwick, Kyber co-founder Loi Luu, and FMFW.io CEO Danish Chaudhry. Subsequent raises have brought total disclosed funding above $10.5 million, with additional institutional names including Infinity Ventures, IOSG Ventures, Shima Capital, and Nansen co-founder Alex Svanevik among reported backers.

Solana Fit

MixMob chose Solana at founding and has remained on the network since its 2021 Gen0 Mask launch. The MXM token is Solana-native, the MixBot NFT collection lives on Solana, and the game's on-chain interactions settle on Solana infrastructure. The project was an early participant in Solana's mobile-first gaming strategy, with dedicated integrations for the Solana Saga smartphone. Solana Ventures' participation in the seed round further anchors the relationship.

The platform's throughput requirements — processing competitive game actions, token distributions, and NFT trades at scale — align well with Solana's low-cost, high-speed settlement model.

Ecosystem Components

Beyond the core racing game, MixMob has built three supporting products:

MixLab serves as the crypto portal for wallet management, MXM staking, and opening seasonal Glitch Pod capsules containing NFT drops. M3LEE is MixMob's watch-and-support platform, letting non-racer participants predict race outcomes and earn a share of results alongside the racers they back. Universe Hub acts as a central connector across all MixMob products and serves as the entry point for new users.

Current Status

MixMob: Racer 1 is live and active. The platform reported 200,000 active players and more than 150,000 registered users as of 2025, with seasonal content updates continuing under a Season 1 "LFG City" narrative arc — a resistance story set against an AI antagonist called Helix-9. Prize pool competitions have ranged from $20,000 for tournament events to over $50,000 across Season 2 rewards. The MXM Minor League, an ongoing esports competition format, was actively broadcasting semi-finals and grand finals as of mid-2025, demonstrating continued competitive infrastructure investment.
