DeFi Land

DeFi Land is a Solana-native agriculture-simulation game developed by Kind Knight Studios that gamifies decentralized finance activities. Launched in May 2021, the platform maps core DeFi mechanics — swapping, staking, yield farming, and liquidity provision — onto familiar game genres: fishing, shooting gallery, harvesting, and idle pet care.

Game Mechanics

Players engage in four primary mini-game modes:

• Fishing — skill-based casting tied to token swap mechanics
• Shooting gallery — precision targeting for reward earning
• Harvesting — farming simulation tied to yield collection
• Pet sanctuary — idle income via five animal types (cows, ducks, chickens, dogs, cats)

Additional systems include crafting, tool upgrades, home customization, and a marketplace for trading in-game tokens and crops. Seasonal leaderboard competitions award top players with DFL, SOL, and exclusive NFTs.

Tokens

DFL is the primary governance and utility token with a fixed supply of 10 billion. It is used for in-game asset and NFT trading, staking and liquidity pool incentives, game mechanics rewards, and governance votes that determine how network resources are allocated.

GOLD serves as a secondary in-game currency with controlled emission. Players earn GOLD through gameplay; it is convertible to DFL via burning mechanisms, creating a dual-token economy that separates speculative trading from day-to-day in-game activity.

NFTs

Four Gen-0 NFT categories unlock specific gameplay and enable the Play-and-Earn tier:

1. Fishing Rod — body, reel, hook, float attributes
2. Hunting Gun — barrel, handle, scope, charm attributes
3. Harvester — body, type, wheel, tube attributes
4. Animals/Pets — passive income generation in the pet sanctuary

NFT attributes act as productivity multipliers with durability and upgrade systems. Players without Gen-0 NFTs can begin for free and grind toward the Play-and-Earn tier.

Play-and-Earn Model

The platform operates on a play-and-earn (not pure play-to-earn) model: casual players access free content, while Gen-0 NFT holders unlock deeper reward layers. Milestone completions and economy participation generate real token income. Seasonal prizes include DFL, SOL, and exclusive NFTs for leaderboard finishers.

Recent Development

As of July 2025, DeFi Land is in active beta. The team launched Alpaca Dash — an NFT racing game featuring the Almighty Alpacas collection — with winter-themed tracks and $10K+ in seasonal prizes. Earlier in 2024, DeFi Land integrated with Kamino Finance for a DFL-SOL trading pair and collaborated with DRiP on a lore expansion. The website reports 628K hours of playtime, 7.5M mini-games played, 750M DFL tokens earned, and 450K players.
