On-chain activity
Transaction Monitoring
Automated on-chain transaction monitoring that applies configurable risk rules to detect AML, sanctions, and fraud risks at scale.
Lens
Real-time multi-asset wallet screening that assigns risk scores and supports onboarding and ongoing KYC/AML compliance.
Discovery
Counterparty and VASP due-diligence tool that evaluates exchanges and other service providers for indirect risk exposure.
Elliptic
Elliptic is a blockchain analytics and crypto compliance company that helps regulated financial institutions, cryptocurrency exchanges, payment providers, and government agencies detect illicit activity, conduct investigations, and meet regulatory obligations across more than 65 blockchain networks — including Solana.
What Problem It Solves
Every institution touching digital assets must answer the same questions: Where did these funds come from? Does this wallet belong to a sanctioned entity? How do I trace stolen funds across chains? Manual review at crypto's transaction volumes is impossible. Elliptic's software automates that screening and investigation work, embedding compliance directly into customer onboarding, payment flows, and post-transaction monitoring.
Two-thirds of global crypto trading volume flows through exchanges using Elliptic's monitoring services, and the platform screens over 200 million addresses and transactions each month.
Core Products
Lens is Elliptic's real-time wallet and transaction screening tool. It evaluates incoming and outgoing crypto activity against Elliptic's intelligence dataset, returning risk scores on a 0–10 scale to flag sanctions exposure, terrorism financing connections, darknet market links, and other red flags before or at the moment of settlement.
Discovery handles counterparty due diligence. It screens Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) — exchanges, custodians, DeFi protocols — to give institutions a picture of a potential business partner's compliance posture before engaging with them.
Investigator provides cross-chain fund tracing. A single click launches a visual investigation that follows funds as they move across blockchains, bridges, and token swaps, converting complex transaction graphs into evidence usable by compliance teams or law enforcement.
Ecosystem Monitoring surfaces broader exposure trends, giving compliance leadership a view of where risk is concentrating across digital asset markets at any given time.
Layered across all of these is Elliptic Copilot, an agentic AI system that automates the routine, repetitive tasks compliance analysts spend most of their time on — alert triage, report drafting, entity lookups — allowing teams to scale operations without proportional headcount growth.
The Solana Challenge and Elliptic's Solution
Solana's account model creates a structural problem for blockchain analytics that doesn't exist on Bitcoin-style UTXO chains. On Solana, every token type requires its own dedicated account address. A user holding SOL, USDC, and USDT on a single wallet appears on-chain as three separate addresses — one main account and one associated token account per asset. Custody providers typically hand off only the main account address, leaving token transfers invisible to conventional screening tools.
Elliptic's Advanced Clustering methodology was built specifically to close this gap. It automatically tracks the relationship between a user's main account and all associated token accounts, grouping them into a unified cluster. Screening any address in the cluster returns intelligence for the entire entity — so a sanctions hit on a USDC token account surfaces correctly, even when only the main SOL address was supplied.
This Solana-specific engineering is now embedded in the Solana Developer Platform (SDP), which lets enterprises build tokenized deposits, stablecoin payment flows, and real-world asset products on Solana. Elliptic was selected as SDP's compliance infrastructure partner in March 2026, providing wallet screening for outgoing payments, transaction screening for incoming funds, and configurable risk rules covering sanctions and terrorism financing.
Next-Generation Platform and Team
In December 2025, Elliptic launched a new Data and Intelligence Platform. Transaction volumes across crypto grew 4.6x in the prior two years, and the new Data Fabric layer integrates multiple intelligence sources into a unified system.
Elliptic was co-founded in 2013 in London by Adam Joyce, Tom Robinson, and James Smith. Simone Maini became CEO in April 2020. Investors include HSBC, JPMorgan, Santander, Wells Fargo, Nasdaq Ventures, and Deutsche Bank. In May 2026, One Peak led a $120 million growth round valuing Elliptic at $610 million. Notable customers include Coinbase, Revolut, and Circle.
Fit in the Solana Ecosystem
Elliptic sits at the institutional entry point to Solana. Its Advanced Clustering work on Solana's account architecture addresses a real technical obstacle that had previously limited on-chain screening quality on the network. For enterprises building on SDP to issue stablecoins or tokenized real-world assets, Elliptic's screening is embedded directly in the infrastructure stack rather than bolted on after the fact.
