Cramer calls Bloom Energy his top behind-the-meter AI power pick, but would wait for a pullback
CNBC's Jim Cramer said on September 30 that Bloom Energy is still his favorite way to invest in behind-the-meter electricity for the AI data center build-out. He added that he would wait for a pullback before buying. According to CNBC, Bloom shares are up 219% this year, including 34% in September, as demand for its onsite fuel-cell systems has grown alongside construction of power-hungry data centers.
Bloom pitches its systems to developers as a faster option than waiting years for a grid connection. Management has said it delivered power to an Oracle data center within 55 days. Cramer's caution is about valuation, not the business: he remains positive on Bloom's long-term fundamentals but argued against chasing the stock after this year's run.

Bloom Energy jumps 13% after Jefferies lifts price target to $264
Bloom Energy (BE) shares rose about 13% in midday trading on September 29, 2026, CNBC reported. The move came after Jefferies raised its price target on the fuel-cell and power company to \$264 from \$229. Jefferies pointed to Bloom's growth outlook for the higher target.
Jefferies kept its hold rating on the stock, so the higher target did not come with an upgrade. The gain came a few days after Bloom shares fell when Oracle invoked force majeure on a New Mexico data center project.

Bloom Energy falls after Oracle invokes force majeure on New Mexico data center
Bloom Energy shares fell almost 6% in midday trading on Thursday, September 24, CNBC reported, as investors weighed the fuel cell maker's exposure to Oracle's "Project Jupiter" data center campus in New Mexico. Bloom has been contracted to supply up to 2.45 GW of fuel cells for the project.
The trigger was Oracle's notice to the campus developer that it was invoking force majeure clauses. According to reports, Oracle does not intend to end its contract as the primary tenant. It is instead seeking the right to withhold payments if the scheduled 2028 operational start slips. Oracle's own shares fell about 4% on the news. For Bloom investors, the notice raises the question of whether the project's timeline, and Bloom's fuel cell deliveries to it, will hold.
