Huma Finance's PST Crosses $200M Market Cap, a Top-3 Yield-Bearing Asset on Solana
Huma Finance's PST crossed $200M market cap July 21, ranking among Solana's top three yield-bearing assets, backed by real-world payment financing receivables.
Huma Finance HUMA$0.021+5.5% Huma Finance announced on July 21 that its PayFi Strategy Token (PST) crossed $200 million in market cap, according to an official post published at 17:53 UTC. Compass token data retrieved later that afternoon placed PST at $199.78 million, independently confirming the milestone. Huma Finance described PST as ranking in the top 3 yield-bearing assets on Solana by total value and as one of the top 3 by 30-day net growth. The same Compass data shows PST's circulating supply grew from 152.0 million tokens on June 21 to 174.6 million by July 21, a 14.9% increase in 30 days, spread across 4,404 holder addresses.
How PST Generates Yield From Payment Financing
PST is the receipt token for Huma Finance's payment financing protocol, launched on Solana in April 2025 as Huma 2.0. Users deposit USDC into Huma to fund short-duration credit lines extended to licensed cross-border payment institutions. Those institutions borrow capital to prefund payment corridors (settling trades, card receivables, and cross-border remittance flows), repaying within one to five business days.
Income derives from interest and origination fees on those continuously rolling facilities rather than from token emissions or trading incentives. According to Huma's April 2025 launch materials, the protocol's Classic Mode has delivered double-digit USDC annualized yields; a Maxi Mode variant forgoes USDC yield in exchange for accelerated protocol loyalty rewards. Huma Finance states that since inception it has facilitated over $12 billion in cumulative payment volume with zero credit defaults.
How PST Verifies Underlying Assets via the Accountable Dashboard
Huma Finance pairs PST with an independent transparency dashboard at huma.accountable.capital, powered by Accountable, which uses cryptographic verification to confirm asset exposure and portfolio performance on a near real-time basis. The dashboard surfaces underlying receivables data across Arf's payment infrastructure, the partner network through which PST capital is deployed.
Risk Factors for PST Holders
PST's yield structure introduces counterparty concentration that differs from staking or protocol-native yield products. The dominant borrower in the underlying pool is Arf Financial, a cross-border payments firm that operates under common ownership with Huma Finance. That related-party arrangement means lending terms and default recognition are negotiated between affiliated entities, without an independent trustee or external credit rating. A third-party risk review by Sentora notes that default reporting is self-reported and the first-loss capital buffer sits at approximately 2% of assets; protocol operators also retain authority to pause or cap redemptions.
For context on PayFi as a category and Huma's broader thesis, Huma Finance presented its vision at Accelerate 2025 and expanded on it in a product keynote at Breakpoint 2025.
