Exponent Finance Launches srONyc Yield Trading as Kamino's OnRe Market Passes $200M
Exponent Finance adds PT-srONyc and YT-srONyc yield trading for OnRe's reinsurance tranche as Kamino's OnRe Market hits $200M and Exponent TVL crosses $120M.
Exponent opened yield trading for srONyc, the senior tranche of OnRe ONyc$1.13+0.0%'s reinsurance yield token, on July 24, adding two new instruments to a product that had previously existed only as a passively held position. The launch comes as Kamino Finance KMNO$0.018-2.3%'s OnRe Market crossed $200M in total market size and Exponent crossed $120M TVL, both confirmed by the Solana Foundation's July 26 weekly recap.
The underlying setup was covered in Exponent's risk-tranching launch in June, which split OnRe's ONyc reinsurance yield token into a senior tranche (srONyc, targeting roughly 6.4% APY with a 20% principal floor) and a junior tranche with amplified yield. What launched July 24 is the next layer: srONyc itself is now a tradeable yield market on Exponent, with participants able to take either a fixed-rate or leveraged position on the underlying reinsurance premiums.
PT-srONyc and YT-srONyc: Fixed Rate or Leveraged Reinsurance Yield
Exponent's yield-stripping mechanic produces two instruments from any yield-bearing asset. Applied to srONyc, the split yields PT-srONyc and YT-srONyc.
PT-srONyc is a principal token: it trades at a discount to face value and redeems at par on maturity, locking in a fixed return on ONyc's senior reinsurance yield. YT-srONyc is a yield token: it captures the variable income from the senior tranche's reinsurance premiums and amplifies exposure to that yield, producing larger gains when premiums outperform the implied rate and losses when they do not.
"Senior ONyc (srONyc) is now available for yield trading on Exponent," the project announced on July 24. OnRe confirmed: "Yield trading for srONyc is now live on Exponent Finance. Lock in a fixed rate on ONyc's Senior tranche by buying PT-srONyc, or gain leveraged exposure to its yield via YT-srONyc," the protocol posted the same day.
The launch includes $10,000 in srONyc rewards split between two pools: $5,000 for liquidity providers in the srONyc concentrated liquidity market on Exponent, and $5,000 for limit orders on YT-srONyc placed within ยฑ6% of the market's implied APY. YT-srONyc earns a 3x OnRe Points boost for the first 14 days, after which it reverts to 2x.
Loopscale OnRe Growth Combines Four Strategies for Up to 12.28% APY
Loopscale launched a parallel strategy on the same day. OnRe Growth, available through Loopscale Earn, accepts USDC deposits and routes them across the OnRe ecosystem in a single position, rebalanced daily.
"OnRe Growth on Loopscale Earn optimizes yield across the OnRe DeFi ecosystem in a single position," Loopscale announced. The strategy cycles across four allocations: idle USDC lent to OnRe USDC markets, looped ONyc positions, looped PT-ONyc, and PT-ONyc deployed on Exponent. Loopscale targets up to 12.28% APY from the combined allocation.
Kamino OnRe Market Passes $200M; Exponent Finance Crosses $120M TVL
Both figures come from the Solana Foundation's July 26 weekly recap, which listed them among the week's milestones.
Kamino Finance's OnRe Market, which allows ONyc to serve as lending collateral, passed $200M in total market size. Compass covered the market crossing $150M in June; the $200M mark represents roughly 33% growth in six weeks. Exponent Finance's $120M TVL figure is platform-wide and reflects capital across all its yield markets on Solana.
OnRe Transparency Dashboard Now Shows Real-Time Reinsurance Portfolio Breakdown
OnRe expanded its transparency dashboard on July 25, disclosing the structure of the reinsurance portfolio backing ONyc in greater detail than was previously available in real time.
The expanded dashboard separates ONyc's aggregate APY into its constituent parts (reinsurance premiums earned and reserve asset income) so depositors can see where the yield originates. It also makes capital positioning more transparent: the Liquidity Layer (15% of total AUM held in reserve to support redemptions) is now shown alongside available capital beyond existing reinsurance commitments, representing capacity ready for new placements.
The disclosures accompany a period in which OnRe's yield token has been integrated across three distinct product layers: Kamino for collateral-backed lending, Exponent for yield trading, and Loopscale for automated strategy allocation. Each draws capital through a different mechanism, but all of it rests on the reinsurance premiums flowing into OnRe's Bermuda-domiciled segregated accounts. Making those flows visible in real time is a useful anchor for anyone evaluating positions across those products.
