Fomo Overtakes Axiom as Solana's Top Daily Trading Terminal by Volume
Fomo's social-first trading app overtook Axiom as Solana's top daily trading terminal by volume, closing a gap that looked insurmountable weeks earlier.
Axiom held the top spot in Solana meme coin trading terminals for more than a year. That position changed today. CryptoBriefing reported this morning that Fomo, a self-custodial mobile trading app, has overtaken Axiom in daily Solana trading volume, ending a run that saw Axiom capture as much as 72% of all meme trading volume on the chain at its April 2025 peak.
What makes the overtake significant is the trajectory behind it, not the single-day crossing point.
How Fomo Climbed From 17% Market Share to Solana's Top Trading Terminal
Per CryptoBriefing's reporting, Axiom reached $101 million in a single day's trading volume in April 2025, at which point it held between 30% and 72% of all Solana meme trading activity. By June 2026, that share had settled to 44.6% of daily trading terminal volume, at roughly $51.5 million. Fomo was at 17.2%, approximately $19.8 million per day.
The warning sign for Axiom was Fomo's rate of gain. In June alone, Fomo posted 57% volume growth over just six days, per CryptoBriefing. That pace suggested the overtake was a question of timing, not direction. By early August, Fomo had already passed GMGN to take the second position in trading terminal revenue.
Fomo's daily protocol revenue from DeFiLlama rose to between $437,000 and $474,000 in the three days ending August 5, up from roughly $224,000 per day during the week ending July 27. Per CryptoBriefing, the app has accumulated more than $2.5 billion in cumulative volume on Solana and has more than 625,000 users.
Solana Compass tracks daily active traders on Axiom's primary on-chain routing program. That count climbed from roughly 32,000 in early July to over 47,000 by August 4 and 5, a 48% increase in four weeks, showing that Axiom's own user base was expanding throughout the period Fomo closed the gap.
Axiom's daily on-chain trader count grew 48% over four weeks, from roughly 32,000 in early July to over 47,000 by early August, per Solana Compass, showing the incumbent's user base expanding even as Fomo overtook it by volume.

Axiom built its position by optimizing for Solana speed: fast execution on new token launches, low-latency routing, and reliability under high-volume conditions. Fomo took a different approach. The app is built around a social feed: traders follow wallets they trust, watch real-time transactions, and operate inside an interface that resembles a content app more than a trading terminal.
The product runs on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, and Monad, with unified balances and gasless swaps that remove friction points which typically push casual users toward centralized exchanges. Fomo's Apple Pay integration onboarded more than 68,000 first-time crypto buyers with no prior on-chain history, generating approximately $25 million in volume from that cohort alone, per crypto.news.
In June 2026, Fomo closed a $75 million Series B at a $550 million valuation, led by Index Ventures, with Union Square Ventures and Benchmark participating. Fomo also added perpetual futures trading via Hyperliquid in June for non-U.S. users, expanding its surface area beyond spot.
Speed-First vs Social-First: What Axiom's Solana Concentration Now Faces
Axiom's user base has been growing at the same time. As the chart above shows, Solana Compass's tracking of Axiom's on-chain routing program puts daily active traders at over 47,000 by early August, up from roughly 32,000 at the start of July. Axiom expanded; Fomo expanded faster.
That distinction matters for what this shift signals. The trading terminal competition through 2024 and into early 2025 rewarded technical performance: execution speed, snipe reliability, MEV protection. Fomo's move to the top volume position suggests the next phase favors distribution and design. A social feed with 625,000 users, per CryptoBriefing, and a mobile onboarding path that reaches first-time crypto buyers is a different growth mechanism than low-latency routing.
Axiom's Solana concentration, an asset when Solana dominated meme trading activity, now creates a structural question. Fomo's multi-chain architecture means its volume does not depend on Solana meme cycles holding at current intensity. If that activity fragments across Base or Monad, Axiom's routing is less positioned to follow it.
Solana's trading market is large enough that both apps can grow simultaneously. But the leaderboard position has shifted, and for consumer apps, volume rankings influence where new users look first.
