FOMO Social Trading App Enters US iPhone Finance Top 3, Surpassing Cash App
FOMO, the Solana-based social copy-trading app, reached the US iPhone Finance top three on August 21, pushing Cash App to #4 behind Capital One and PayPal.
FOMO reached #3 in the US iPhone Finance chart on Apple's App Store on August 21, displacing Cash App to fourth. The live Free Finance rankings show FOMO between Capital One Mobile at #1 and PayPal at #2, with Cash App, Venmo, and Kalshi trailing.
Free app charts on the App Store reflect recent download velocity (which apps consumers are actively choosing to install), rather than lifetime installed base. For a Solana-native trading app to outpace Cash App on that measure puts it ahead of one of the most recognized payment brands in US consumer finance.
What FOMO Is and How It Works
FOMO is a social copy-trading app built primarily on Solana. Users follow active traders, see their on-chain positions in real time, and can execute the same trade in a single tap. The app supports Solana, Base, BNB Chain, and Monad from one non-custodial interface. Onboarding requires an Apple ID or Google account, with no seed phrase or browser extension needed.
The platform was co-founded in 2025 by Paul Erlanger, Se Yong Park, and Prashan Dharmasena, three former employees of the decentralized exchange dYdX. Their thesis: discovery, execution, and social reputation (tools traders previously scattered across multiple apps) belong in a single feed.
In June 2026, FOMO closed a $75 million Series B at a $550 million valuation, led by Index Ventures with Union Square Ventures participating. Investors also included Mark Pincus, Discord CEO Humam Sakhnini, and Eventbrite co-founder Kevin Hartz. That followed a $17 million Series A from Benchmark in November 2025. At the time of the Series B, FOMO had 625,000 registered traders and was adding around 3,500 per day.
Where the App Store Ranking Fits FOMO's Recent Run
The chart position closes a period of consecutive milestones on the protocol side. FOMO topped Hyperliquid in 24-hour protocol revenue on August 16, and before that overtook Axiom as Solana's top daily trading terminal by volume on August 6. Weekly revenue reached an all-time high of $1.57 million in July 2026, per prior Compass coverage.
Protocol revenue and App Store rank are driven by different mechanics: fees and trading volume for the former, download activity for the latter. Both tracking higher at the same time suggests retail interest and on-chain usage expanding together, not one substituting for the other.
The Finance category on the US App Store is where most American consumers encounter a financial tool for the first time. A Solana-native trading app reaching the top three, alongside Capital One and PayPal, is a concrete data point for how far consumer appetite for on-chain trading has moved into the mainstream install funnel.
