FOMO Tops Hyperliquid in 24-Hour Protocol Revenue as Solana Copy-Trading App Extends Its Run
DeFiLlama data shows Solana-based FOMO copy-trading app surpassing Hyperliquid in 24-hour protocol revenue on Aug 16, continuing a pattern first seen Aug 8-9.
FOMO FOMO again recorded a higher 24-hour protocol revenue figure than Hyperliquid on August 16, crypto news aggregator DegenerateNews reported, citing DeFiLlama data. The Solana-based social copy-trading app first achieved that milestone in early August and has maintained daily revenue figures that routinely approach or exceed Hyperliquid's output on lower-volume trading days.
What Drives FOMO's Protocol Revenue on Solana
FOMO is a self-custodial, gasless token swap app built on Solana that wraps trading in a social layer: feeds, leaderboards, and copy-trading let users follow and mirror the on-chain positions of top wallets. The platform earns fees on every Solana token swap executed through the app, and that swap fee stream accounts for the large majority of its revenue.
The perps component is smaller than the swap business. FOMO added perpetual futures trading in June 2026 through integrations with Hyperliquid and Trade.xyz, giving non-US users access to crypto, equities, pre-IPO stocks, indices, and commodities without leaving the app. Builder code fees from Hyperliquid futures contributed roughly $39,000 out of FOMO's $2.64M weekly haul for the week ending August 8, per Crypto Briefing, accounting for under 1.5% of total revenue. There is no native governance token; every dollar reported is fee revenue from user activity.
Over the past 30 days, FOMO generated $9.98M in total fees, of which $9.31M reached protocol revenue, per DeFiLlama. The trailing seven-day figure is $2.34M, implying a daily average of roughly $334K, which is above Hyperliquid's $277,967 in 24-hour protocol revenue recorded on August 16.
FOMO's 24-Hour Revenue vs. Hyperliquid in Context
FOMO's single-day peak reached approximately $399,000 around the week ending August 8, per Crypto Briefing, which independently reported the milestone on August 9.
Hyperliquid is a materially larger protocol. Its 30-day protocol revenue stands at $30.04M, more than three times FOMO's, and it has crossed $1.194B in cumulative revenue as of August 16, per DeFiLlama. Hyperliquid's daily revenue typically runs well above $1M, with individual peaks as high as $6.84M, per Crypto Briefing. The 24-hour comparisons where FOMO leads occur on days when Hyperliquid's perpetuals trading volumes fall below their typical range.
The relationship between the two platforms adds another layer. FOMO routes its perps order flow through Hyperliquid's infrastructure via builder code agreements, making Hyperliquid simultaneously a competitor in revenue rankings and a service provider collecting fees from FOMO's own users.
FOMO's Revenue Trajectory: $1.57M to $2.64M Weekly in Three Weeks
FOMO's revenue growth over the summer has been consistent. The app set a then-record $1.57M in the week ending July 27, surpassing a prior high of $1.39M. Three weeks later, it posted a $2.64M weekly all-time high for the period ending August 8, placing it above Jupiter and Phantom in weekly Solana protocol revenue.
The platform closed a $75M Series B in June 2026 at a $550M valuation, backed by Index Ventures, USV, and Mark Pincus among others. By that point it had attracted more than 625,000 users and processed over $4B in cumulative trading volume, per Crypto Briefing. Q3 2026 gross protocol revenue reached $13.31M through mid-August, per DeFiLlama's income statement for the protocol, ahead of the $7.24M the app generated across all of Q2.
