On-chain activity
SolanaFloor
SolanaFloor provides news, analysis, and educational resources for the Solana ecosystem, delivering insights via articles, videos, and podcasts to keep the community informed and engaged with the latest developments.
SolanaFloor
SolanaFloor is Solana's primary independent news and education platform, publishing daily coverage of the ecosystem's DeFi protocols, NFT market, real-world assets, governance debates, infrastructure milestones, and market movements. Operating as a subsidiary of the Jito Foundation since March 2026, the outlet runs its newsroom with full editorial independence.
From NFT Analytics to Solana's Media of Record
SolanaFloor launched in 2021 as an NFT analytics tool, aggregating on-chain data on collections, floor prices, and token distribution across the Solana network. That product attracted Step Finance, which acquired SolanaFloor in July 2022. Under Step Finance ownership, SolanaFloor pivoted from pure analytics into a fully-fledged media outlet, abandoning the original data dashboard in favor of daily editorial output.
The outlet expanded production — launching a weekly newsletter via Substack, video series, livestreams, and a live broadcast presence at conferences including Solana Breakpoint 2025. SolanaFloor also hosted the annual Solana Crossroads conference.
Shutdown and Jito Foundation Acquisition
In late January 2026, Step Finance suffered a $27 million exploit. The attack forced Step Finance to halt operations, and SolanaFloor announced a wind-down in February 2026.
On March 10, 2026, the Jito Foundation announced it had acquired SolanaFloor and was immediately resuming operations. Jito Foundation president Brian Smith framed the acquisition in ecosystem terms. The Jito Foundation is the nonprofit arm of Jito Labs, the team behind JitoSOL.
The acquisition preserved editorial independence. SolanaFloor's editorial team retained control over story selection, sourcing, and coverage priorities, with head of communications Mia Grodsky confirming editorial independence.
What SolanaFloor Covers
SolanaFloor publishes at a near-daily cadence covering DeFi protocol developments, new token launches, exchange integrations, memecoin events, governance proposals, real-world assets, and infrastructure news. A dedicated "Learn" section provides guides for different experience levels. The Solana Weekly newsletter packages the week's top stories via Substack.
The outlet added a dedicated ETF tracker monitoring Solana spot and staking ETF inflows and performance metrics. It also covers Solana Mobile's Seeker rewards as an ongoing beat.
Ecosystem Position
SolanaFloor occupies an unusual position: a media outlet funded by a major protocol organization but structured to report on that same ecosystem without editorial direction from its backer. The Jito Foundation's interest is institutional — a poorly informed community makes for lower-quality governance participation and slower ecosystem growth. By funding the outlet as a public good, Jito frames the subsidy as infrastructure spending rather than promotion.
SolanaFloor's closest peers are general-purpose crypto publications such as The Defiant, CoinDesk, and Cointelegraph. SolanaFloor's narrower mandate — Solana exclusively — gives it depth those publications cannot match on Solana-specific governance nuances, smaller protocol launches, and conference-level ecosystem events.
