About

Metana

Metana is an online coding bootcamp that specializes in preparing developers for careers in Web3, blockchain, software engineering, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Operating entirely online with a part-time, project-based curriculum, Metana caps each cohort at ten students to maintain high instructor-to-student ratios and individualized mentorship. The school has earned a 4.8 out of 5 rating on both Course Report and SwitchUp and has been recognized by Forbes as a top coding bootcamp.

Programs and Curriculum

Metana's course catalog centers on six active programs, with a seventh in development.

The Web3 Rust Bootcamp is Metana's Solana-focused offering. Running 16 weeks at roughly 20 hours per week, it takes students from Solana blockchain fundamentals through production-grade on-chain program development. The curriculum spans 16 modules: Solana Blockchain Fundamentals, Rust Fundamentals for Solana, the Solana Account Model and Program Derived Addresses, development tooling and testing, native program development, the Anchor framework, SPL Token Programs, NFTs and Metaplex, frontend and client integration, oracles and external data feeds, DeFi on Solana, DAOs and on-chain governance, program security and access control, advanced security and auditing, compute optimization and performance, and upgrades, runtime internals, and future directions. Technologies covered include Rust, Anchor, SPL tokens, Metaplex, and Chainlink. Admission requires passing a coding assessment; no prior blockchain knowledge is required, but some programming experience is expected.

The Web3 Solidity Bootcamp targets Ethereum development over the same 16-week, 20-hour-per-week format. Sixteen modules cover Ethereum fundamentals, Solidity programming, ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155 token standards, smart contract security and access control, frontend integration, DeFi protocols and liquidity pools, Layer 2 scaling, gas optimization, account abstraction, and oracles. The program is structured around an 85% coding, 15% tutorial split, with weekly group sessions and one-on-one code reviews. Prerequisites include one to two years of JavaScript or TypeScript experience, Bash scripting, and Git proficiency.

The Web3 Beginner Bootcamp is a 28-week program (seven months) that combines a 12-week web development foundation with the full 16-week Web3 curriculum. It serves students with little to no prior programming experience and is available in both full-time (40 hours per week) and part-time (20 to 25 hours per week) formats. The first phase covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, React, and Git; the second phase mirrors the advanced Web3 modules from Metana's standalone blockchain tracks.

Additional programs cover Full Stack Software Engineering (16 weeks), Advanced Software Engineering for experienced developers, Cybersecurity (16 weeks), and AI and Data tracks.

Pricing and Financing

Tuition for the 16-week Web3 bootcamps runs 7,500 USD upfront under Plan I, or 2,000 USD enrollment plus 1,272 USD per month for five months. Plan II, which includes extended career coaching, runs 11,700 USD upfront or 3,500 USD plus 1,990 USD per month over five months. The 28-week Beginner Bootcamp starts at 9,896 USD upfront under Plan I, scaling to 14,400 USD for Plan II. Third-party financing through Climb Credit and Fortify is available, with monthly payment options starting at 69 USD. All programs include a two-week, no-questions-asked refund period.

Job Guarantee

Metana's primary differentiator is its job guarantee. Graduates who meet program requirements and do not secure employment paying at least 50,000 USD annually within ten months of graduation receive a full tuition refund. The school reports that 67% of students across its Web3 and Full-Stack programs secured jobs before completing the program, and 31% were hired within three to six months of graduation. The average reported salary increase among graduates is 26,500 USD, and Metana cites an average blockchain engineer salary of 139,952 USD in its program materials. Employers hiring Metana graduates include Google, Amazon, Meta, Coinbase, and ConsenSys, according to the school.

Career Support: JobCamp

All programs include access to JobCamp, Metana's career preparation module. JobCamp covers LinkedIn and GitHub profile optimization, resume writing, networking strategy, technical and non-technical interview coaching, and salary negotiation. Depending on the plan chosen, graduates receive one to three years of post-graduation career coaching access. The school maintains a network of hiring partners and facilitates introductions between graduates and employers.

Admission and Cohort Structure

Cohorts are intentionally small, capped at ten students, to enable close mentorship. Each program requires passing an aptitude or coding assessment. The Web3 Solidity and Rust tracks report an approximately 70% rejection rate at admission. Instructors are described as active practitioners in the Web3 industry, and students have access to weekly office hours throughout the program.

Independent Reviews

Course Report lists 42 alumni reviews with an aggregate score of 4.64 out of 5. Positive themes in reviews include hands-on instruction, current curriculum content, and strong instructor engagement. One critical review filed in mid-2026 cited disputes over instructor support and refund handling, indicating that student experiences can vary.

Relevance to the Solana Ecosystem

Metana occupies a niche in the Solana developer pipeline. Its Web3 Rust Bootcamp is one of the few structured, cohort-based programs specifically designed to train Solana on-chain program developers from the ground up. The curriculum's breadth — covering Anchor, Metaplex, DeFi, DAOs, and security auditing in a single 16-week program — positions graduates to contribute across the ecosystem's major application categories. For the Solana network, which depends on a growing supply of Rust-proficient developers capable of writing and auditing on-chain programs, programs like Metana's represent one structured pathway for expanding that talent pool beyond self-taught practitioners and traditional computer science graduates.
