Byreal

[[PROJECT:1846]] is a decentralized exchange built on Solana and incubated by Bybit, the cryptocurrency exchange. It launched on Solana mainnet in October 2025 with a self-described mandate to be "the ultimate liquidity layer built for real assets" — meaning on-chain infrastructure for tokenized equities, commodities, and other real-world assets alongside conventional crypto pairs. By its first anniversary in July 2026, the platform had processed $3.7 billion in cumulative trading volume across 25.3 million transactions, according to Byreal's official anniversary announcement.

Dual-Engine Spot Trading

The spot DEX at Byreal's core runs a hybrid execution architecture that routes each trade through either an on-chain concentrated liquidity market maker (CLMM) or an off-chain request-for-quote (RFQ) system, selecting whichever path offers better pricing at the moment of execution. The RFQ side settles with zero gas cost and is designed to eliminate MEV exposure by keeping the order off-chain until fill. Byreal publishes sub-200ms quote speeds as a target for RFQ settlement.

For larger or less liquid pairs, the smart router can also aggregate liquidity from external Solana AMMs including [[PROJECT:287]], [[PROJECT:260]], and [[PROJECT:241]], effectively combining Byreal's native pools with the broader Solana liquidity ecosystem in a single transaction.

Liquidity provision on the CLMM side is concentrated, meaning liquidity providers set price ranges and earn fees only when the market price stays within their band. Byreal adds a copy-farming product it calls Real Farmer, described as the first of its kind on Solana, which lets users replicate the pool range strategies of other active LPs rather than configuring positions from scratch. Byreal's anniversary announcement cited over 18,000 copied LP positions across its pools.

Perpetuals and Real-World Asset Markets

Byreal Perps runs on infrastructure powered by Hyperliquid and offers leveraged trading on both crypto assets and a growing list of real-world assets. Users can trade tokenized equities such as Nvidia, Circle, and Micron, along with commodities including gold and silver, all with leverage up to 50x and around-the-clock access. This 24/7 availability for what are normally exchange-hours-restricted assets is a stated product differentiator: Byreal's perps market stays open on weekends and outside US trading hours, where the underlying stocks are not.

As of August 2026, the perps listing also included tokenized AI-sector equities and Chinese tech names, reflecting the platform's willingness to list assets that see speculative demand in crypto circles, such as ZHIPU AI, alongside blue-chip tech names.

RWA Spot Liquidity

On the spot side, Byreal's RWA focus is most visible in its partnership with xStocksFi, which provides over 20 tokenized equity pools. The platform also hosts what it describes as the deepest Solana liquidity pool for XAUt0, the Tether Gold tokenized commodity. Bybit's liquid staking token bbSOL features prominently in several pool pairs, creating a direct integration between the exchange's broader ecosystem and Byreal's on-chain liquidity.

Token Launchpad and Yield Products

Reset Launch is Byreal's token distribution product. It replaces a traditional fixed-price sale or airdrop with a mechanism it calls a Smart Price Ladder combined with a Fairshare Engine, which allocates tokens based on price action rather than first-come-first-served or whitelist access. The intent is to reduce farming behavior by tying allocations to price-discovery outcomes.

Revive Vault provides yield strategies, including bbSOL-exclusive vault access and yield flows that span both on-chain and off-chain sources. Bybit's institutional infrastructure provides the off-chain side, giving Byreal access to custody and yield that a fully permissionless protocol could not otherwise offer.

AI Agent Infrastructure

Byreal calls itself "the most agent-native DEX on Solana" and has built explicit infrastructure for autonomous AI agents to interact with the protocol. The Agent Skills layer exposes programmatic access to all major platform functions — token swaps, LP provision, perps trading, prediction market participation, and position management — through a native CLI interface designed for non-human callers.

RealClaw is Byreal's own AI agent product built on top of that infrastructure, offering autonomous yield farming, spot trading, and perpetuals management. The broader Agent Skills layer is also open to third-party developers building autonomous trading systems.

Byreal Predict

Byreal Predict is an on-chain prediction market integrated into the same platform. It allows users to take positions on event and price outcomes. The product operates alongside the other trading verticals rather than as a standalone, and Byreal treats it as part of its argument that a single DEX can serve multiple forms of on-chain speculation.

Founding and Backing

Byreal launched publicly in June 2025 with backing from both the Solana Foundation and its incubator Bybit. It operates as a legally independent entity from Bybit Global and Bybit EU. Founder Emily Bao leads a small team and has characterized the project as a response to a DeFi landscape dominated by short-term incentive structures. The Bybit relationship provides practical advantages: deep order book liquidity backstopped by one of the largest centralized exchanges by volume, and access to institutional custody infrastructure for the off-chain components of the RFQ system and vault products.

Status and Scale

Byreal is active and growing. At its October 2025 mainnet launch it ranked inside the top 10 Solana DEXes by TVL within weeks. As of December 2025, Byreal's total value locked stood at $10.88 million according to DeFiLlama data cited in platform communications, while cumulative volume had crossed $1 billion in roughly 72 days. By July 2026, cumulative volume had reached $3.7 billion with $2.8 million in LP fee distributions. No native Byreal governance or utility token has been announced as of August 2026.
