BlackBerry ($BB) Tokenized Stock Goes Live on Solana via Sunrise and Backpack Securities

Sunrise announced the listing of tokenized BlackBerry stock on Solana on September 19, issued by Backpack. BB is the third NYSE-listed equity to go live on Solana via this infrastructure in 72 hours.

$BB is redeemable 1:1 for a traditional share of BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB) held in custody at Backpack Securities. Tokens are transferable to traditional brokerages, and the mechanism operates the same way as depositing or withdrawing a stablecoin, according to the Backpack Securities announcement. $BB is available for 24/7 trading on Raydium RAY$1.70-5.6% and across compatible Solana wallets, including Backpack, Jupiter, Phantom, and Solflare.

BlackBerry's Software Business and the QNX Footprint

BlackBerry exited the handset market over a decade ago and now operates two divisions: QNX, which provides embedded software for automotive and industrial systems, and a secure communications platform. QNX software runs in more than 275 million vehicles, according to Raydium.

Third Tokenized Equity on Solana in 72 Hours

The $BB listing follows two others from the same Sunrise-Backpack Securities stack. Forward Industries' FWDI listed on September 17, and Cypherpunk Technologies' $CYPH followed on September 18. Each uses the same model: Backpack Securities holds the underlying shares as an SEC-registered broker-dealer, Sunrise provides the tokenization and market infrastructure on Solana, and Raydium handles DEX liquidity.

Raydium has processed more than $5 billion in tokenized stock volume this month, with September tracking toward a monthly on-chain equity record.
