On-chain activity
Tokie App
Tokie App implements social trading through shareable video clips, enabling discovery of trading opportunities and community engagement. The system integrates a non-custodial wallet while maintaining social features for content creation and sharing.
Tokie
Tokie was a social trading mobile application built on the Solana blockchain that aimed to merge the format of short-form video content with on-chain trading activity. Positioned as "a new way to trade," the platform let users watch highlights from other traders' positions, create shareable clips from their own trades, and earn a portion of fees generated by people they referred. The project operated in early access as an iOS beta distributed via Apple's TestFlight program, and its official domain, tokie.io, no longer resolves as of mid-2026. Based on archived snapshots and the absence of any active social presence, Tokie appears to have shut down or been abandoned sometime after July 2025.
What Tokie Was
The core idea behind Tokie was to treat successful trades the way social media platforms treat viral content: short, shareable, and surfaced by a curated feed. The platform had three main pillars, as described across its archived website and a motion design portfolio piece produced for its promotional launch.
The first pillar was a curated content feed. Tokie surfaced what it called "Trading Highlight Videos" — a digest of top trades selected from across the Solana ecosystem, with formats like "Trade of The Day" and "Top 10 Wins" presented in a hand-picked feed. Users could scroll through recent winning positions much like a social media timeline.
The second pillar was clip creation. Tokie included a built-in Studio Editor that let traders turn their own on-chain activity into short video clips. The interface, shown in archived screenshots, displayed candlestick chart data alongside trade details and allowed users to export a clip and share it directly through the app or externally. This feature was what differentiated Tokie from a standard trading aggregator: the platform treated a profitable trade as content worth broadcasting.
The third pillar was social distribution and referral earning. Users who shared clips and brought new traders to the platform earned 50% of the referral fees those traders generated. This created a direct economic incentive to build an audience around trading content rather than simply posting for engagement.
Platform and Access
Tokie was distributed as an iOS application through Apple's TestFlight, the beta testing platform for apps not yet in public App Store release. Access required an invitation or referral code, which the project directed prospective users to obtain by following its Twitter account, @tokieio. This invite-gated model was common for early-stage consumer crypto apps during 2023 and 2024, allowing teams to control growth while testing infrastructure.
The official website at www.tokie.io linked to documentation at docs.tokie.io and hosted a promotional video trailer demonstrating the app interface. Community channels included a Telegram group at t.me/tokieio.
The app ran on Solana, and archived UI screenshots show candlestick chart data consistent with Solana token trading. No specific decentralized exchange integrations, on-chain programs, or token contracts were publicly documented in the available materials.
Visual Identity
Tokie's branding was built around a distinctive neon green 3D character mascot and fast-paced market visualizations. A motion design studio, Rocani Studio, produced a promotional film for the project that choreographed the mascot with animated candlestick charts and UI mockups. The stated intent was for the visuals to communicate the pace and energy of trading rather than explain the product through conventional marketing copy. The aesthetic drew from social media app conventions, with a content-forward layout and emphasis on speed and immediacy.
Project Timeline and Current Status
The Wayback Machine captured 136 snapshots of www.tokie.io between August 17, 2023, and July 15, 2025. During that window the product was consistently presented as a beta or early-access app seeking users, with no public announcement of a full launch. The April 2025 snapshot was captured by Archive Team, a volunteer collective that preserves websites considered at risk of imminent closure.
No active presence exists as of August 2026. The domain returns NXDOMAIN, meaning DNS resolution fails entirely and the domain has been allowed to lapse or was not renewed. The @tokieio Twitter account showed no recent activity. No news coverage, press release, or shutdown announcement was found.
Tokie operated during a period of significant activity in Solana's social-trading and community trading space. The project did not appear to reach a public launch beyond its TestFlight beta before going offline.
