TND Payments

TND Payments is a Solana crypto payments app, not the German TND-Pay fuel card or the Tunisian dinar (currency code TND). Its app, TND SafePay, let one phone pay another by tapping them together over NFC, using whichever wallet and token the payer chose.

As of October 2026 the project appears inactive. The website at tndpayments.com still loads, but its only download link, a Google Play listing, now returns "not found". The @TNDpayments X account has not posted since 29 October 2024. The crypto card it promised is still marked "coming soon" on the site. Treat it as a 2024 experiment, not a payment tool you can rely on today.

Is TND Payments still active?

Probably not. We checked three things in October 2026:

• The app. The Google Play page linked from the official website returns a 404. The site links no other download, such as an APK or a dApp Store page.
• Social activity. The last post on the project's X account is a version 1.6 changelog from 29 October 2024. Nothing has been posted since.
• The roadmap. The site still lists the TND card as "coming soon", the same wording it used in 2024.

We found no shutdown announcement, so we can't give an exact end date. The site has no blog, contact address or changelog to check further.

What TND SafePay did

TND SafePay was an Android app for paying in person with crypto. Before paying, you picked a wallet and a token. Then you tapped your phone against the merchant's phone and the app sent the payment over NFC, the same short-range radio used for contactless cards. The website described it as "no 3rd party involved, no limits": the payment went from your wallet, not through a custodian.

The app launched on the Solana Mobile dApp Store on 29 July 2024. Solana Mobile users were its first audience. The pitch was to "spend your random airdrops or meme coins in bars, cafes, shops or any store". It also had a merchant map: you could search for shops that accepted Solana payments, or add new ones yourself.

TND SafePay 1.6 update: QR codes and store rewards

Version 1.6 came out in October 2024. It is the last update the team wrote about, and it added:

• rewards for users who added stores to the map;
• QR codes you could generate and scan, alongside NFC tapping;
• fixes for compatibility errors with Phantom CASH$1.0000.0%;
• faster map loading.

TND Payments also planned a payment card that would work when your phone battery was dead. The site says it would make "completely crypto-based payments without any third party". It never shipped, as far as public sources show.

Who TND Payments was for

It suited Android users who held small token balances, such as airdrops or meme coins, and wanted to spend them at a merchant who also ran the app. That limit mattered: both sides needed the app, so you could only pay where a merchant had joined its map. With the app delisted and the team silent, it is no longer a sensible choice for anyone.

TND Payments risks and safety

• Abandoned software. An app nobody maintains gets no security fixes. If you still have an old install, don't connect a wallet holding meaningful funds to it.
• No audit or open code. We found no published audit and no public GitHub repository. Its account of how payments were signed and sent can't be checked.
• Small, little-known team. The IQ.wiki entry names a founder called Lomo and three team members by first name or handle only. The website lists no team.
• No on-chain program on record. We have no program addresses for TND Payments. From the website's description, payments appear to be ordinary wallet transfers, so there is no upgrade authority to check.

Alternatives to TND Payments for spending crypto on Solana

For paying in shops today, choose a product that is still maintained. Flexa works with Solflare to let users pay with USDC at large US retailers through Solana Pay. Flipcash, the rebrand of Code, offers instant phone-to-phone USDC payments. Neither is an NFC tap-to-tap app, and neither takes arbitrary meme coins the way SafePay set out to.

TND Payments team and history

IQ.wiki says the project was first announced on X in January 2024. SafePay reached the Solana Mobile dApp Store that July. In September the team posted from Bali during an event held after Breakpoint. The version 1.6 update a month later is the last public sign of activity. TND Payments never announced a token.
