Sniper

Sniper (sniper.xyz) is a Solana trading terminal and AI-powered platform built to give retail traders competitive speed in memecoin and token trading. Founded in 2021 as SolSniperPro — initially an analytics tool for NFT collectors — it evolved over four years into a multi-product trading suite and was acquired by Phantom wallet in August 2025. Today it operates primarily as a memecoin discovery and execution terminal under Phantom's broader ecosystem, with its standalone web and Telegram products still running.

The Problem It Solves

On Solana, newly launched tokens can surge or collapse within seconds. Retail traders executing swaps through standard DEX interfaces often miss the entry window, buy into rug pulls, or get front-run by MEV bots. Sniper addresses this by consolidating token discovery, safety analysis, and trade execution into a single interface optimized for speed — capabilities that were previously accessible only to developers running private nodes or custom bots.

Core Mechanism

The web terminal streams live token data from Solana in real time, presenting new launches, migration events, and key market metrics through MemeScope — a live feed that shows each token's volume, market cap, price change, and age on one screen. Tokens are categorized by lifecycle stage: New LIVE (freshly launched), Migrating LIVE (moving from launchpads such as Pump.fun), and Migrated LIVE (fully active on DEXes like Raydium or Meteora). Traders can filter by stage to match their risk tolerance and execute buys directly from the same interface without copying contract addresses or navigating to a separate swap page.

The Telegram bot extends this to mobile with additional automation: AFK Copy Trade mirrors target wallets automatically, Twitter Monitor fires buy orders when tracked accounts mention specific tokens, and configurable take-profit, stop-loss, and trailing stop-loss settings enable hands-off position management.

Supported Tokens and Assets

Sniper focuses exclusively on Solana-native tokens, including standard SPL tokens, Token22 assets, and tokens launched on Pump.fun or PumpSwap and migrating through standard launchpad pipelines. Coverage extends to tokens listed on Raydium and Meteora. There is no cross-chain support; the platform is Solana-only.

NFT support — once a core part of the product — was fully discontinued in June 2025. The marketplace, live NFT feed, Floorderbook order book, NFT screener, and portfolio tools were all shut down. The SniperPro Discord bot and public Sniper API were also retired.

Security Model

The platform is non-custodial. Users retain control of funds in their own Solana wallets, connected through Wallet Connect or Ledger hardware. The team explicitly states it will never request a user's seed phrase. The Telegram bot generates a unique secret phrase on setup that users must store securely. The inbuilt rug check in the bot flags contract-level red flags before executing a trade. No third-party smart contract audits are publicly cited in the available documentation.

Team and History

Sniper Labs was founded in 2021 by Max Z and incorporated in Wilmington, Delaware. The platform launched as SolSniperPro with a focus on NFT analytics: real-time listing feeds, portfolio tracking, a watchlist, and a Discord alert bot. Early investors included Foresight Ventures, FTX Ventures, SevenX Ventures, and Shima Capital in a fundraise totaling approximately 4.5 million dollars.

The platform rebranded from "Sol Sniper" to "Sniper" to support broader positioning beyond NFTs. By 2023 and into 2024, it had expanded the NFT side with the Floorderbook — a central limit order book (CLOB) built specifically for NFT trades, described as the first of its kind on Solana — and became the first Solana marketplace to support the Token22 standard. In March 2024, Sniper partnered with OKX to surface OKX NFT listings within its interface.

As NFT trading volumes on Solana declined through 2024, Sniper built out its token trading products: the Telegram bot, web terminal, and QuantGPT AI assistant launched sequentially. On June 13, 2025, the NFT marketplace officially closed. All listings were delisted, bids were cancelled, and balances were refunded automatically. The team confirmed the shift to token trading was permanent, citing inability to sustain marketplace operations in a contracting market.

On August 4, 2025, Phantom acquired Sniper Labs. The acquisition brought Sniper's trading infrastructure into Phantom's ecosystem, resulting in Phantom Terminal — a pro-level trading interface drawing on Sniper's charts, real-time data, and execution stack. As of mid-2026, sniper.xyz continues to operate as an active standalone product and also directs users toward the integrated Phantom.Trade experience.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Sniper occupies the power-user tier of Solana's trading ecosystem alongside platforms like Photon, Bullx, and Trojan, all targeting traders who need automated, data-rich, and fast execution for early-stage token plays. Before the Phantom acquisition, Sniper formalized a partnership with Photon to deepen its token trading capabilities. The acquisition by Phantom — the dominant Solana wallet by user count — gave Sniper's technology reach across a much larger installed base and positioned its tools as a native layer within the wallet rather than a standalone destination.
