POTLOCK

POTLOCK is an open funding stack for public goods and crypto grants, letting projects, nonprofits, open-source contributors, and community initiatives raise funds through quadratic funding rounds, direct donation campaigns, and on-chain grant voting across NEAR Protocol, Solana, Ethereum, Stellar, and a growing list of other chains. Traditional grant allocation concentrates power in a few large donors or foundations; POTLOCK addresses this with composable, algorithm-driven tools designed to amplify broad community support. The core product — the Pot — is a time-bounded funding round where a matching pool is split among participating projects using a quadratic formula that squares the number of unique contributors rather than raw donation amounts, so one dollar from one hundred people carries more matching weight than one hundred dollars from a single donor. Round operators set the matching pool, eligibility criteria, and duration; contributors donate in any supported cryptocurrency. POTLOCK also supports GrantPicks, a separate on-chain voting grant protocol on Stellar that allows communities to vote on project funding allocations. Veridise audited GrantPicks from January to February 2025, covering the Lists, Project Registry, and Round contracts across eight person-weeks of manual review by two analysts, and produced zero findings at any severity. POTLAUNCH is POTLOCK Solana-native token launch kit, extended cross-chain through NEAR Intents and Omnibridge. It provides bonding curves for dynamic pricing, Dutch auction mechanics for fair price discovery, customizable tokenomics with vesting schedules, and Phantom wallet integration. The AI-PGF initiative uses AI agents to streamline grant workflows; the first external donation agent launched on the Bitte wallet in 2024. curate.fun, developed under the POTLOCK umbrella, aggregates Twitter/X feeds and converts them into newsletters, podcasts, and announcement channels via a plugin system at github.com/POTLOCK/curatedotfun-plugins. For Solana users specifically, the platform accepts SOL donations cross-chain via NEAR Intents, and POTLAUNCH positions POTLOCK inside the Solana token launch ecosystem with mechanisms comparable to those popularized by pump-style platforms but with explicit multi-chain bridging. POTLOCK launched its first rounds in partnership with the NEAR Foundation, which contributed over 100,000 USD in initial matching funds. Through 2024, POTLOCK distributed over 250,000 USD across dozens of projects spanning open-source infrastructure, education, college clubs, AI infrastructure, individual contributors, Africa-focused projects, and creative public goods, including the Creatives Public Goods Round and the NEAR Retroactive Builders Round. The platform accepts donations on Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains, Bitcoin, NEAR, Solana, Sui, Stellar, and TON. All core contracts are MIT licensed; the project is governed by the Potlock Foundation DAO operated by Potluck Labs, with all repositories publicly available under the POTLOCK GitHub organization.
