Netrunner

Netrunner is a crypto tax reporting platform built exclusively for Solana, launched in April 2022. It automates the full pipeline from raw on-chain transaction data to jurisdiction-specific, filing-ready tax reports—addressing a structural gap left by general-purpose crypto tax tools that were designed with Ethereum's transaction model in mind and consistently mishandle the volume, velocity, and diversity of Solana activity.

The Problem Netrunner Targets

Most mainstream crypto tax software was designed around Ethereum's relatively simple transaction structure. Solana's architecture presents fundamentally different challenges: the network processes transactions at far higher throughput, and user activity routinely spans token swaps, staking rewards, perpetual futures, NFT trades, liquidity pool deposits and withdrawals, airdrops, and spam tokens—all mixed together in a single wallet's history. Generic tax tools struggle to correctly categorize this activity, leading to mislabeled transactions, incorrect cost-basis calculations, and potential over- or under-reporting. Netrunner's value proposition is deep Solana-native specialization: it does one thing (Solana tax reporting), but it does it with the protocol-level granularity the ecosystem requires.

Core Mechanism

Users connect one or more Solana wallet addresses to Netrunner. The platform indexes the wallet's full on-chain transaction history and applies an AI-powered auto-labeling engine to categorize each transaction by type. The engine assigns labels with confidence scores—flagging uncertain categorizations for manual review—rather than silently forcing every transaction into a single bucket. Once labeled, transactions are processed through jurisdiction-specific tax rules to compute capital gains, income events, deductible expenses, and other reportable figures. The output is a set of downloadable reports formatted for the user's country and, in the United States, pre-filled IRS forms.

Key Features

AI Auto-Categorization. The platform automatically identifies and labels: token swaps, staking rewards, perpetual futures positions (including Jupiter Perps and Flash Trade Perps), NFT trades, liquidity pool activity, airdrops, and spam transactions. For each unknown or ambiguous entry, the AI recommendation engine surfaces a suggested label along with a confidence score so users can accept or override it.

Perpetual Futures Support. Netrunner fully indexes perpetual trading activity, tracking position opens and closes, realized profit and loss, funding fees, and liquidations. This is a category that most competing tools ignore or handle poorly.

Multi-Wallet Dashboard. Users can connect and consolidate multiple Solana wallets into a single unified view, with filtering capabilities to work across the combined transaction history.

CEX Integration. Beyond on-chain data, Netrunner accepts CSV imports from centralized exchanges including Binance and Coinbase, allowing users to consolidate off-chain trading history with their Solana on-chain activity in one report.

Accountant Collaboration. A Members feature allows users to invite a tax accountant or auditor to access their profile and explore transaction data directly, without needing to export raw data manually.

Multi-Jurisdiction Reports. Netrunner currently supports 13 jurisdictions: the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Italy, Japan, India, Nigeria, and South Africa. Each jurisdiction receives country-specific tax calculations and report formats.

Supported Protocols and Integrations

Netrunner's transaction parsing covers a wide range of Solana programs and protocols, including Jupiter, Raydium, Orca, Kamino, Meteora, Magic Eden, Tensor, PumpFun, Titan Exchange, Sol-Incinerator, and Phantom and Solflare wallets. The Solflare partnership is notable in terms of reach—Solflare serves more than one million users—and positions Netrunner as a recommended tax solution within one of Solana's most widely used wallet interfaces.

Pricing

Netrunner operates on a freemium model. The free tier covers up to 30,000 transactions. The Pro tier, priced at USD 189 per year, extends coverage to 100,000 transactions. A Whale tier with custom pricing is available for users with higher transaction volumes and includes priority support.

V2 and Ongoing Development

Netrunner has released a second major version of its platform, featuring faster transaction indexing infrastructure, support for a broader set of Solana programs, and unlimited transaction capacity with no hidden per-transaction fees. Version 2 also introduced a redesigned user interface with progress indicators during transaction indexing and streamlined report downloads. Pricing for V2 was initially offered at 1 SOL per fiscal year for early adopters. The Sol-Incinerator integration for tax-loss harvesting was flagged as forthcoming at the time of V2's launch.

Ecosystem Position

Netrunner occupies a niche that has become increasingly important as Solana's DeFi ecosystem has grown in complexity. The volume of taxable events a typical active Solana user generates—across swaps, staking, DeFi protocols, and NFT markets—has made manual tax preparation impractical and made error-prone generic tools risky to rely on. Netrunner's focus on building Solana-specific parsing logic, maintaining up-to-date protocol integrations, and providing actionable AI-assisted categorization addresses this directly.
