Film Fun

Film Fun (film.fun) is an AI-powered filmmaking and creator platform launched in April 2025 by Rogues Lab, a Gold Coast, Australia-based AI innovation lab founded by CEO Darren Rogan. The platform carries the tagline "Where stories evolve one beat at a time" and describes its core mission as making film accessible and enjoyable: providing tools to create with AI, learn, share, and launch projects.

Builder Background and Solana Ecosystem Connection

Rogues Lab operates at the intersection of artificial intelligence and blockchain, and the Solana ecosystem is central to its portfolio. The studio participates in Superteam Australia, the local chapter of the Solana developer and builder network, supporting the community through events, meetups, and developer activation. Rogues Lab also launched the Rogues NFT collection on Solana, a generative collection designed to unlock access to a growing ecosystem of blockchain technologies across Solana and beyond, positioning film.fun as part of that broader product ecosystem. Rogues Lab has additionally provided strategic advisory to token launches such as the Vana Foundation TGE, and founder Darren Rogan identifies himself as building at the intersection of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and digital experiences.

Film Fun is the lab's primary consumer-facing product, built alongside the Ignite Studio commercial AI video production agency and an internal AI Agent C-Suite architecture that runs Rogues Lab operations across seven business units.

Core Products

Splice — AI Video Editor

Splice is the platform's flagship tool: a browser-based AI video editor that requires no software installation. Creators write a prompt, select from multiple AI video generation models, drop generated footage onto a timeline, and export directly. The editor supports multi-track compositing and professional production workflows within the browser environment. Integration across multiple AI models within a single session distinguishes it from single-model tools. Access is fully credit-based; there is no subscription or annual fee, and credits are consumed only when generating content.

Studio — Project Launch and IP Development

Studio is film.fun's production and publishing layer. Creators use it to develop intellectual property, build audience engagement around ongoing projects, and publish work produced in Splice. Studio is oriented toward serialized and episodic content, for storytellers who want to build persistent narrative worlds rather than produce one-off clips. The combination of Splice for generation and Studio for publication creates a pipeline from initial concept to community-facing release.

Academy — AI Filmmaking Education

The Academy offers more than 30 free courses spanning cinematography, storytelling, editing, sound design, and performance. Nine structured learning paths are organized around specific creative goals, sequenced to build skills in deliberate progression from beginner to advanced production. Courses are taught by working filmmakers rather than generalists. A badge and achievement system tracks progress and marks the completion of milestone courses. The breadth of the Academy — covering traditional film craft disciplines alongside AI tooling — signals that film.fun is targeting creators who want to understand filmmaking holistically, not just generate content.

Community — Creator Discovery and Collaborative Canon

The Community section hosts creator portfolios, enabling filmmakers to showcase AI-generated work and be discovered by collaborators and audiences. Beyond passive exhibition, the platform supports active contribution: creators can participate in other users' projects and earn royalties when their contributed work appears in final productions. On-platform messaging references this directly, describing contributors earning royalties on community canon projects and framing individual contributions as entries into shared, evolving narrative universes. Gamification elements — achievements and badges — are layered across the community to reinforce ongoing participation.

Business Model and Pricing

Film Fun operates without a subscription tier. Users access the Academy, Community, and browsing features at no cost. Generating video content via Splice consumes credits, which are purchased as needed. This structure lowers the entry barrier for experimentation while capturing value from production activity. The royalty mechanism for contributors adds an earn layer: creators who contribute to others' projects receive royalties when that work is featured, though the technical infrastructure underlying payment settlement has not been publicly detailed.

Positioning

Film Fun enters an increasingly competitive category of AI video creation tools but distinguishes itself through the combination of education depth, collaborative IP mechanics, and a serialized storytelling orientation. The tagline reflects a positioning around narrative arcs and iterative world-building rather than one-shot video generation. The Rogues Lab organizational context — an AI and Solana ecosystem builder with experience across NFT collections, token launches, and community development — provides infrastructure and community distribution that a standalone tool would lack.

The platform launched in April 2025 with Splice in beta. No token address or on-chain Solana program identifiers for film.fun have been published in official materials, though the Rogues Lab Solana ecosystem involvement and the Rogues NFT collection provide the infrastructure context within which the platform sits.
