About

SolSea

SolSea is an NFT marketplace on Solana. The ALL.ART team built it and opened it in August 2021. Its main idea is simple. An artist picks a license when they mint an NFT, so the buyer knows which rights come with it. This page is about the crypto site at solsea.io, not the Solsea Swim swimwear brand.

In October 2026 SolSea looks dormant. The site still loads, but some of its pages call themselves a parked snapshot. The help site is gone, and we found no posts on its X account in the past 12 months. Read the features below as a record of what SolSea offered. Check the site yourself before you rely on any of them.

Is SolSea legit, and is it still active?

SolSea is a real marketplace with a known team, but in October 2026 it does not look like a product that anyone is running. The proof is on SolSea's own pages. The activity page says "Live trade feed is paused on this snapshot." The support pages say "Support forms are offline on this parked snapshot." The Live Mints page shows no mints.

The help sites are gone too. On 8 October 2026 both docs.solsea.io and howto.solsea.io failed to load at all. The SolSea footer still points to them for the FAQ, the terms, and the guide to fake NFTs. The @SolSeaNFT account on X showed no posts for the past 12 months.

We found no notice that SolSea has shut down. The SolSea home page still has a Connect Wallet button and a "beta" label. ALL.ART N/A$0.00002007-2.3% still lists SolSea as one of its live products. So the fair word is dormant: still online, with no support and no word on what comes next.

How SolSea NFT licenses work

SolSea lets an artist choose a license at the moment an NFT is minted, and the terms are stored with the token. ALL.ART calls this format NFT-PRO. The SolSea launchpad page says NFT-PRO is "Metaplex-compatible but also has embedded license agreements". In plain terms, the tokens act like normal Solana NFTs and also carry the license.

For you as a buyer, the gain is that you know where you stand. A normal NFT sale often leaves one thing open: may you show, print or sell copies of the art? With a built-in license, the answer is written into the token. It stays there when the token is sold on.

Artists can also add unlockable content. That is a file or note that only the owner can open.

SolSea fees and AART staking

SolSea charges a 2% fee on trades, and you can cut that fee in steps to 0% by staking a token called AART. The home page puts it as "Transaction fees from 2% down to 0%". Staking here means you lock your AART on SolSea for as long as you want the lower fee.

AART is the token of the ALL.ART Protocol. The ALL.ART token page lists its uses as "reducing trade fees, staking for better visibility on our platforms, and activating special features."

SolSea's help site used to show how much AART each fee step needs. That site is now offline, so we do not list the steps here. The staking page on solsea.io shows only a headline until you connect a wallet.

A Supra review from January 2023 said SolSea took payment in SOL, USDC and USDT. In May 2022 MoonPay said that buyers on SolSea could also pay by card.

SolSea launchpad, minting and exhibitions

SolSea puts minting, selling and browsing on one site. The home page menu lists these parts:

  • Create, a tool to mint single NFTs and whole sets
  • A launchpad for new drops, with mints priced in SOL or another Solana token
  • Explore pages for NFTs, artists, collections and exhibitions
  • Live Mints, a trade feed and charts
  • A staking page for AART

You have to apply to use the launchpad, and SolSea says that to apply "does not guarantee acceptance". Exhibitions are curated shows of work by SolSea artists. The Supra review also noted private listings, plus rarity ranks and trait stats for larger sets.

The home page now carries a banner for 3AS, a separate project for building AI agents, with a link to a waitlist. The ALL.ART website dates its tie-up with 3AS Protocol to 16 May 2025. That is the newest item in ALL.ART's news list.

Who SolSea is for

SolSea was built for artists and photographers who want the license for their work fixed at mint. It was also for buyers who want to know what they may do with a piece. Its menus lean toward art, photos, CGI and one-off works.

Right now SolSea suits very few people. If you hold NFTs that were minted or listed there, you may want to check that you can still manage them. If you are picking a home for a new drop in 2026, SolSea is a hard place to start. The trade feed is paused, the support forms are off, and the help pages are gone.

SolSea risks: fake listings, verification and no support

The biggest risk with SolSea in October 2026 is that no one seems to be there to help. The support forms are offline. The terms, the privacy policy and the guide to fake NFTs all sat on a help site that no longer loads. If a trade goes wrong, or you cannot get staked AART back, it is not clear who would answer.

SolSea is an open market, so anyone can mint and list. Its own Live Mints page warns: "Please be cautious when bidding/buying these NFTs! Most of them are unverified." User reviews on SourceForge from late 2021 and early 2022 back this up. One buyer said a first purchase was a fake. Some artists said it was hard to get a collection verified.

To cut your fees you must buy a second token and lock it in a SolSea program. We found no public audit of SolSea's programs. We also could not confirm who is able to change them. Trades on Solana are final. A web address that has lapsed can be bought by someone else, so be wary of any link that claims to be SolSea help.

SolSea alternatives on Solana

SolSea was not the biggest Solana NFT marketplace by trade volume. The Supra review from January 2023 said Magic Eden handled more trades, and it named other Solana venues as options. The choice back then was clear. SolSea gave you built-in licenses and a path to 0% fees. Bigger venues gave you more buyers.

That choice looks different now. With SolSea's trade feed paused, a seller who needs active buyers will look to a venue that is still running. The NFT-PRO license format is still found only in ALL.ART's own tools.

SolSea team and history

SolSea was built by the ALL.ART Protocol. MoonPay's notice from May 2022 names Jovan Tišma as a SolSea co-founder.

ALL.ART has since moved into other work. Its website lists a tool for digital certificates. It lists free wallet kits for games built with Unity. It also lists a market for real-world goods sold as tokens, which opened with wine from Virtus Winery in February 2025.

The ALL.ART website claims more than 800,000 users and more than 250,000 NFT-PROs minted. Those are its own numbers, and the site gives no date for them.
