SP3ND Launches Stockbacks: Stablecoin Shoppers Earn Tokenized Equity in Amazon, Walmart, Nvidia, and More
SP3ND's Stockbacks pays up to 3% of stablecoin purchases as tokenized equity via xStocksFi, starting with Amazon, Walmart, Nvidia, Apple, Nike, and GameStop.
Stablecoin shopping platform SP3ND SP3ND launched Stockbacks on September 17, adding a feature that routes up to 3% of stablecoin purchases back to shoppers as tokenized equity stakes in the brands they buy from, distributed through xStocks AAPLx$342.73-1.0% xStocksFi.
The six starting brands are Amazon, Walmart, Nvidia, Apple, Nike, and GameStop. SP3ND said the rewards are accessible through its browser extension and the Solana Mobile Seeker app.
How Stockbacks Converts Stablecoin Spending Into Tokenized Equity
Under the Stockbacks model, a user who pays with stablecoins at a supported retailer receives a share of the purchase price back as xStocksFi tokenized shares of that retailer. SP3ND accepts USDC, SOL, and BONK for purchases and has operated without KYC requirements for orders under $10,000 since its launch.
The tokens SP3ND distributes are xStocksFi's tokenized equities, which xStocksFi says are backed 1:1 by underlying shares held in regulated custody through Backed Assets (JE) Limited in Jersey. The xStocksFi protocol covers more than 811 stocks and ETFs and has recorded over $40 billion in cumulative transaction volume, according to its website. xStocksFi tokens are not available to US persons or residents of sanctioned jurisdictions, per xStocksFi's terms of service.
Six Brands, Each Rewarded in Their Own Stock
The initial brand set spans two mass-market retailers (Amazon, Walmart), two technology companies (Nvidia, Apple), an athletic brand (Nike), and GameStop. SP3ND describes the model as earning equity in the brands shoppers patronize, rather than a generic crypto token or loyalty points balance.
xStocksFi tokens trade around the clock on multiple centralized exchanges including Kraken, ByBit, Gate.io, and Bitget, and inside Solana DeFi protocols including Orca and Raydium.
Stockbacks Arrives as Solana's Tokenized Equity Market Expands
SP3ND's announcement lands alongside a period of growth in tokenized equities on Solana. Solflare added 600 xStocks last week, bringing its offering to over 750 tokenized equities. The same day SP3ND made its announcement, the SEC issued a five-year innovation exemption for tokenized NMS stock to trade on-chain, a regulatory development with direct relevance to the products now distributing those tokens as consumer rewards.
The platform also supports stablecoin purchases at eBay and other retailers beyond the six Stockbacks brands, without requiring a bank account or identity verification for standard orders.
