Solflare Launches Merchant Cashback, Earning USDC at Nike, Best Buy, and 4,000+

Solflare's Merchant Cashback pays USDC to your self-custody wallet at Nike, Best Buy, Sephora, and 4,000+ retailers, with no points, no tiers, and no expiry.

Solflare Launches Merchant Cashback, Earning USDC at Nike, Best Buy, and 4,000+

Solflare has introduced Merchant Cashback, a new in-app feature that pays USDC directly to users who shop through the Solflare wallet at more than 4,000 participating retailers. Solflare announced the feature on August 17, 2026, describing the proposition simply: shop through Solflare, get USDC back in your wallet.

There are no points to accumulate, no reward tiers to qualify for, and no expiration date on what you earn.

How Solflare Merchant Cashback Works

Users access participating merchants through the Solflare app rather than going directly to a retailer's site. After a qualifying purchase, USDC cashback is credited to the user's self-custody wallet on Solana. Solflare framed the feature as working across the full range of discretionary spending, from travel and electronics to beauty and everyday essentials, with no prerequisite spending level or category restriction.

The cashback is paid in USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle, rather than in loyalty points or proprietary tokens. That distinction matters for anyone who has tried to extract value from a credit card rewards program: USDC in a self-custody wallet is immediately usable and fungible without any conversion step or redemption window. Solflare has not announced specific cashback rates or percentages for any merchant category.

Nike, LEGO, Best Buy, Sephora, and 4,000 Others

Solflare named six retailers at launch: Nike, LEGO, Best Buy, Sephora, Booking.com, and NordVPN. The mix covers apparel, toys, electronics, beauty, travel booking, and software subscriptions.

The 4,000-plus total merchant count suggests a broad affiliate commerce network rather than a set of direct brand integrations. A launch roster spanning six very different categories and price points, from LEGO sets to hotel bookings to NordVPN subscriptions, is consistent with an affiliate platform that already carries wide merchant coverage.

USDC Cashback Goes Straight to Your Self-Custody Wallet

Standard loyalty programs keep earned value inside a closed system. Points sit in a program account, expire after inactivity, and require deliberate redemption steps before becoming usable. Airlines and hotel chains adjust point values and reward seat availability unilaterally, sometimes mid-program.

Solflare's structure bypasses those mechanics. USDC earned through Merchant Cashback lands in the user's self-custody wallet, where it is available as any other on-chain asset. There is no tier governing the rate, no minimum spend threshold, and no expiration clock.

Solflare described the appeal around purchases users were already planning: "Whether you're shopping for everyday essentials or treating yourself, Merchant Cashback lets you earn USDC on purchases you were already planning to make." The framing asks users to route existing spending through the app rather than change their shopping habits.

Solflare's Consumer Push in 2026

The Merchant Cashback launch fits a pattern of consumer-oriented shipping from Solflare this year. As we covered in Solflare's June 2026 update, the wallet added 134 tokenized stocks via xStocks, a Google Pay buying path for US users, and a Cards Borrow facility backed by Kamino Finance.

The Solflare Card, a self-custodial Mastercard debit card that spends USDC from the wallet, is currently paused following the July 2026 winding down of card issuer Kulipa. Solflare plans to relaunch the card under a new issuing partner, with Apple Pay and Google Pay support, higher spending limits, and a separate cashback program; a specific relaunch date has not been announced. Merchant Cashback is a distinct feature from the card and is available now through the app.

The combination of an in-app shopping portal paying USDC today and a card relaunch planned with its own cashback structure extends Solflare's reach into daily spending that most self-custody wallets have not addressed.

Cashback Rates Still to Come

The practical value of Merchant Cashback will be clearer once Solflare publishes its rates. Specific per-merchant rates and a base rate have not been disclosed. The 4,000-plus merchant catalog provides scale; whether those rates and merchant categories match what Solflare's users actually buy is something usage data will settle over time.

What the feature establishes now is a direct connection between ordinary retail spending and on-chain USDC accumulation inside a single self-custody app.
