Zealy is a gamified community engagement platform that lets projects publish quests — structured tasks covering social actions, content creation, on-chain activity, and more — that users complete to earn XP, tokens, and cryptocurrency rewards including guaranteed USDC payouts.

The Problem It Solves

Before platforms like Zealy existed, community teams relied on Google Forms, Discord channels, and manual spreadsheets to coordinate gamified tasks and track contributor engagement. This approach doesn't scale: managing hundreds or thousands of participants across social media, on-chain verification, and content submissions requires significant administrative overhead. Zealy automates the entire workflow, giving projects a self-serve operating layer that sits atop existing community hubs like Discord servers and turns them into structured, measurable engagement engines.

How It Works

The platform operates through two distinct user roles. Community creators — typically Web3 projects, crypto protocols, brands, or DAOs — set up a dedicated Zealy community page and publish quests organized into campaigns. Each quest specifies what a user must do (follow an account, post content, join a Discord server, complete a trade, submit creative work) and what they earn for completing it. Quests can be verified automatically through integrations or manually reviewed by the community team.

Participants browse active communities and complete quests to accumulate XP — non-transferable experience points that build a public reputation record and determine leaderboard standing. At the end of a campaign sprint, community creators distribute rewards proportionally or to top-ranked contributors. These rewards can take many forms: Discord roles and status, project tokens, USDC, digital assets, NFT allowlist spots, or merchandise.

Sprints — time-bound competitive periods with configurable reset intervals — add a recurring urgency to participation. Leaderboards within each community rank contributors by XP, giving projects a clear view of their most engaged members and giving users a tangible signal of their standing.

Key Features

Quest types: Zealy supports a broad range of quest categories including Trading Competitions (incentivizing on-chain volume), Creator Quests (content creation and promotion), Clipping Campaigns (short-form video and social clips), and Collections (aggregated quest bundles). Social tasks such as following accounts, sharing posts, and joining servers can be verified through platform integrations.

XP and leaderboards: XP is deliberately non-transferable. This design choice discourages mercenary behavior and ensures the leaderboard reflects genuine engagement rather than purchasable standing. The resulting profile serves as a credible contribution record a user can carry across campaigns.

Guaranteed reward pools: Zealy operates direct reward programs with guaranteed prize pools paid in USDC and distributed proportionally to top earners at the end of sprint periods.

Analytics: Community creators gain access to data identifying highly engaged contributors — useful for identifying potential ambassadors, validating airdrop eligibility, or targeting allowlists for new product launches.

Developer API: Zealy publishes an API that lets teams build integrations and extend quest verification beyond native platform capabilities, enabling on-chain task verification and custom workflows.

Free access: The platform is free for contributors to use. Community creation is also available without upfront fees, though individual projects control whether they add entry requirements or gating.

Background and Funding

Zealy launched in 2022 under the name Crew3, founded by three co-founders: Mathis Grosjean (CEO), Fredrika Lindh, and Louis Demeslay. The team is based in Paris, France. In 2022 the startup raised $3.5 million in a seed round led by Redalpine, with participation from Connect Ventures, Aglaé Ventures, Kima Ventures, Purple, STATION F, Founders Future, Pareto Holdings, and business angels from The Sandbox, POAP, DFNS, Starton, and Pianity.

In mid-2023, Crew3 rebranded to Zealy. The name change was deliberate: the original Crew3 branding was closely associated with Web3 communities, and the team wanted a more neutral identity to support an expansion into Web2 enterprises. By the time of the rebrand, the platform had already attracted traditional companies such as Renault and PMU alongside crypto-native projects. As of 2023 the platform reported 700,000 monthly active users who had completed over 100 million tasks across more than 2,000 companies.

CEO Mathis Grosjean has described the broader vision as positioning Zealy as the operating system for community-led companies: "In the current market, every company in the world will potentially try to become a community-led company."

Solana Ecosystem Fit

Zealy's chain-agnostic architecture means it integrates readily with Solana-based projects. Several established Solana ecosystem participants have deployed Zealy questboards to grow and reward their communities. Solana Name Service (SNS / sns.sol) launched a Zealy badge campaign requiring users to complete tasks on its questboard — following accounts, creating content, and engaging on social — and reward participants through the LFG launchpad. Solana ID maintains a dedicated Zealy questboard for user onboarding and community building.

The platform's model aligns naturally with how Solana projects approach community growth: airdrop-eligible activity tracking, contributor identification, and token distribution are all standard use cases Zealy handles out of the box. Because Zealy itself is chain-agnostic, Solana projects can distribute any SPL token, SOL-denominated prizes, or USDC as quest rewards without platform-level constraints.

Security and Audit Status

Zealy is a Web2 SaaS application rather than a smart contract protocol. It does not hold user funds or execute on-chain transactions directly — reward distribution is initiated by the community creator and settled outside the Zealy platform. No smart contract audits are applicable to Zealy's core product. As a funded, operationally active company, standard application-layer security practices apply, but no public third-party security audit reports have been published.
