Venly Wallet as a Service
A developer wallet service providing custodial and non‑custodial smart wallets via API and embeddable widget, with social login and multi‑chain support for rapid user onboarding.
Venly
Venly is a Belgian Web3 infrastructure company that provides developers and businesses with a suite of APIs and SDKs for integrating blockchain technology into applications without requiring deep crypto expertise. Founded in 2018 in Willebroek, Belgium by Tim Dierckxsens, Quinten De Swaef, Karel Striegel, and Gerbert Vandenberghe under the name Arkane Network, the company rebranded to Venly as it expanded its product surface beyond wallets to cover NFTs, tokens, and payments. The platform is designed to abstract away the complexity of key management, transaction signing, and cross-chain compatibility, letting product teams ship blockchain-enabled features faster.
Origins and Funding
Arkane Network launched in 2018 as a blockchain wallet provider, focusing on making Web3 onboarding simpler for end users and developers alike. The company raised a €1.55 million seed round in April 2021 led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), then closed a €21 million Series A in 2022. That round was led by Courtside Ventures and included participation from Coinbase Ventures, Tioga Capital, Transcend Fund, Fortino, Plug and Play, Leadblock Partners, and several others. The funding supported product expansion and the formal rebrand from Arkane Network to Venly.
Core Products
Venly's platform is organized around four principal API products:
Wallet API and Widget: The Wallet API allows developers to create and manage blockchain wallets programmatically, covering wallet creation, balance retrieval, token and NFT transfers, message signing, contract calls, and transaction status monitoring. The Wallet Widget is a pre-built, white-label alternative that requires minimal setup and handles authentication through social login providers including Apple, Google, and Facebook, so users can access wallets without creating separate seed phrases. Developers can choose between custodial wallets — where Venly manages key security on behalf of users — and non-custodial wallets that leave private key control with the user. The platform reports powering over six million wallets for clients including CoinStats, which created more than 700,000 wallets within 18 months, and gaming platform Gaimin, which onboarded 415,000 gamers through the API.
NFT API: The NFT API covers the full lifecycle of non-fungible tokens: deploying contracts, creating token templates, minting individual or batched tokens, managing metadata, and distributing assets. It supports ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards and includes dynamic NFTs — tokens whose appearance or attributes can update based on external events. The API also offers spam detection to flag fraudulent tokens, real-time webhooks for transfer and metadata events, and an NFT2Email distribution tool that delivers tokens directly to users via email without requiring a pre-existing wallet address. NFT Analytics in the Developer Portal give teams visibility into collection performance and user behavior.
Token API: A newer addition to the product suite, the Token API handles the deployment, minting, and lifecycle management of ERC-20 fungible tokens, with webhook support for on-chain events.
PAY API: The Payments API enables fiat-to-crypto on-ramps and off-ramps, with direct integration into Stripe's dashboard and support from providers such as MoonPay, Transak, and Ramp.network. This allows platforms to accept card payments and convert them into crypto or NFT purchases without building separate payment infrastructure.
Blockchain Support
Venly describes support for over 14 blockchains, including all EVM-compatible chains, and has made discrete announcements as it adds individual networks. The platform explicitly supports Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Binance Smart Chain, Optimism, Hedera, Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Neo, among others. Solana support was added to the Wallet API and Wallet Widget following an announcement that highlighted Solana's average transaction cost of approximately $0.036 compared to Ethereum's roughly $18 gas fees at the time, positioning Solana as a natural fit for high-throughput applications. The Sui blockchain was also announced as an integration target, with Venly framing the move as a push to reduce complexity for game developers on that network.
Developer Experience and Integrations
Venly provides sandbox and production environments through a Developer Portal at portal.venly.io, where teams manage API keys, subscription tiers, and usage analytics. A 14-day free trial is available without a credit card, provisioning test wallets and sample assets automatically. The platform also offers native no-code integrations via Zapier, connecting to over 6,000 applications including Airtable, Google Forms, and Mailchimp, enabling teams to automate Web3 actions without writing custom backend code. Gaming-specific SDKs are available for Unity and Unreal Engine, with backend support for game infrastructure platforms PlayFab and Beamable.
Smart contracts underlying the platform have been independently audited by Least Authority and NonceAudit. Venly holds SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance certifications, and the platform includes an "Under Attack Mode" that allows operators to instantly block traffic during a security incident. Uptime is stated at 99.99%, backed by 24/7 customer support and dedicated account management for enterprise clients.
Target Markets
Venly positions itself at the intersection of gaming, e-commerce, and enterprise Web3 adoption. The gaming vertical is a primary focus, with the Unity and Unreal SDKs and case studies from clients like Gaimin and The Sandbox pointing to studios and platform operators as a core customer segment. E-commerce integrations with Shopify and Stripe extend the platform toward brands looking to offer NFT-based loyalty programs or digital collectibles. Enterprise content on the blog has covered tokenized loyalty programs from brands like Adidas and Prada, as well as blockchain adoption research from Fujitsu, and Reliance Jio's reported plans to bring blockchain to its 450 million users through a Polygon partnership — all pointing to Venly's ambitions in serving larger institutional clients.
The platform is chain-agnostic by design, meaning developers do not have to commit to a single network and can deploy multichain applications that combine, for example, Solana for throughput-intensive operations with Ethereum or Polygon for DeFi and token composability.
