Tomo Wallet

Tomo Wallet is a multi-chain self-custodial wallet supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, TON, Tron, Cosmos, and various Layer 2 networks. The wallet utilizes MPC technology for key management and account abstraction for simplified user experience. Users authenticate through social accounts including Google, Apple, X, Instagram, or Telegram. The platform provides asset management, cross-chain swaps, fiat on-ramping via third-party providers, and social features including chat, token-gated communities, and direct peer-to-peer transfers within messaging interfaces.

About

Tomo

Tomo is a multichain Web3 social wallet built by Tomo Inc. Its core premise is straightforward: the seed phrase requirement that has long blocked mainstream crypto adoption can be replaced with social login, while keeping users fully in control of their keys. Tomo lets users create and access wallets using Google, Apple, X (Twitter), Facebook, or email accounts, then manages their assets across more than 40 blockchain networks from a single interface.

Problem and Approach

Conventional Web3 wallets demand users generate and safely store a seed phrase or private key — a requirement that introduces significant friction and error risk for anyone unfamiliar with cryptographic security practices. Tomo removes that friction at the onboarding layer without switching to a custodial model.

Under the hood, Tomo uses Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology combined with Shamir's Secret Sharing (SSS). Rather than storing a complete private key in any single location, SSS splits the key into multiple encrypted shards distributed across a user's local device, cloud storage, and secured infrastructure. MPC then allows signing operations to be performed across these distributed parties without any one party — including Tomo Inc. — ever holding the complete key. The infrastructure relies on Cubist's CubeSigner, a non-custodial service where private signing keys remain within secure hardware even during transaction signing. This means users benefit from social login convenience while retaining non-custodial ownership of their funds.

Product Lines

Tomo operates in two directions:

Tomo Wallets is the consumer-facing product, available as a mobile app for iOS and Android (including Apple Vision Pro), a Chrome browser extension, and a Telegram mini-app accessible via @tomowalletbot. Each interface targets a different user population — Telegram for users who already live in chat for crypto, the browser extension for desktop DeFi users, and the mobile app as the primary all-in-one hub.

Tomo Labs is the developer-facing division. It provides wallet integration infrastructure so other projects can embed social login and wallet connectivity into their own applications, using the same social-account-based onboarding Tomo offers its own users.

Supported Chains and Assets

Tomo covers more than 40 networks from a single wallet. Core supported chains include Bitcoin (including BRC-20 tokens and Ordinals), Ethereum, Solana, TON, Tron, Cosmos, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche, Polygon, Optimism, Linea, Scroll, Blast, Mantle, Merlin, Bitlayer, and MAP Protocol. This breadth spans both EVM-compatible and non-EVM ecosystems — an unusual range for a consumer wallet, and one that allows users to hold Bitcoin Ordinals and Solana SPL tokens in the same account they use for Ethereum DeFi.

Key Features

Cross-chain swaps let users trade across chains within the app, without leaving to an external DEX aggregator. Real-time TradingView candlestick charts with trading indicators are embedded directly in the interface.

Staking is available across supported networks, including within the Telegram bot for users who want to stay in-chat.

Fiat on-ramp and off-ramp allows purchasing crypto with a credit card or converting holdings to fiat. A crypto debit card is also available.

Tomo Gift is a Telegram-native token distribution tool. Users can send tokens to individual contacts or broadcast to an entire group simultaneously. Solana and BNB Chain are the initial networks supported for Tomo Gift, with further chain expansion planned.

Social features include token-gated communities, peer-to-peer messaging, live streaming with crypto tip rewards, and content posting. This positions Tomo as a social layer built on top of multichain finance rather than a standalone asset manager.

Developer Tools

Tomo Labs provides three main developer products. The Tomo Connect SDK gives DApps a wallet connection layer with Tomo wallet support. The Social Login SDK allows projects to onboard users through their existing social accounts without requiring seed phrase management. The Telegram Mini Apps SDK supports builders creating crypto-native applications inside Telegram with integrated wallet functionality.

Solana Integration

Solana is supported as a first-class network throughout the Tomo stack. The mobile app and browser extension manage SOL and SPL tokens alongside Bitcoin and EVM assets. Solana is one of the two initial chains for Tomo Gift in the Telegram bot. The Tomo Connect SDK includes Solana wallet provider support, making it available to DApp builders on the network. UnyxTech's GitHub repositories include a tomo-wallet-provider TypeScript package (since migrated to the tomo-inc organization) that reflects the team's investment in multi-chain provider infrastructure.

Security

Tomo's key management relies on MPC and Shamir's Secret Sharing via Cubist's CubeSigner infrastructure. The non-custodial design means Tomo does not hold user funds or complete keys. Hardware-backed security through Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) is referenced in the documentation as a component of the broader security model. No formal third-party security audit has been publicly disclosed by Tomo at the time of writing.

Team and Background

Tomo Inc. was founded in 2024. The company originated as a SocialFi application and expanded into enterprise consumer solutions. UnyxTech is the associated development entity, responsible for the underlying contracts and infrastructure. In addition to the Tomo wallet and SDK stack, UnyxTech has built smart contract infrastructure (Tomo-contracts, Tomoji-contracts), Ledger hardware wallet integrations for the Bitcoin Babylon protocol, and Uniswap-derived DEX routing components — indicating a team with breadth across consumer UX, protocol integration, and DeFi infrastructure.

Disclosed partners include Babylon (Bitcoin staking), Bitlayer (Bitcoin Layer 2), Galxe (on-chain quests), Lombard (liquid staking), and Story Protocol (intellectual property infrastructure), spanning DeFi, Layer 2, and content sectors.
