Solana Bear Gang

Solana Bear Gang (SBG) is a community-first NFT project built on the Solana blockchain, anchored by a collection of 888 randomly generated pixel bears. The project launched in February 2022, selling out its full supply at a mint price of 0.30 SOL. Since then it has grown into a small ecosystem combining a utility token, a play-to-earn missions system, a companion NFT collection, and a revenue-sharing model that distributes earnings directly to holders.

The Collection

The Genesis collection contains 888 bears, each assigned one of six rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. Rarity is not cosmetic: the team designed it to carry real weight throughout the ecosystem, affecting mission rewards, revenue-sharing allocations, and access to perks. Bears trade on Magic Eden, OpenSea, and SolSea. A second generation has been discussed but not released as of mid-2025.

$BERRY Token

$BERRY is the native utility token of the Solana Bear Gang ecosystem, with a fixed total supply of 200 million tokens issued on Solana. The allocation is weighted toward user participation: 60 percent of supply—120 million tokens—is reserved for staking and missions, the primary channels through which players earn the token. Remaining allocations cover liquidity, community promotions, and a locked team reserve designed to limit dilution.

The protocol incorporates a progressive deflation mechanism tied to cumulative distribution milestones. Each time 30 million $BERRY has been earned through missions, all mission rewards are cut by 25 percent. This trigger fires at three checkpoints—30 million, 60 million, and 90 million tokens distributed—ratcheting down supply issuance over time and creating scarcity pressure as the circulating supply grows. In August 2025, the team completed the process of establishing liquidity pools and submitting $BERRY to token registry lists, resulting in the token displaying natively inside Phantom Wallet without warnings. It also trades through Jupiter aggregator, where routing works correctly despite a registry warning that had previously appeared to users.

Missions and Play-to-Earn

The missions system is the core engagement layer of SBG. Holders deploy their bears on free missions to earn $BERRY, XP, SOL, and additional NFTs. The system uses a raid-to-earn and play-to-earn structure in which experience points accumulate over time and bear rarity directly influences reward rates. The private alpha launched as a staking prototype; subsequent public beta rounds refined mechanics based on holder feedback. Missions remain the primary gateway through which $BERRY enters circulation.

SBG Den

Alongside the original bear collection, the team released SBG Den: a second collection of 500 NFTs that function as in-game homes for bears. Dens come in five types—Summer, Forest, Winter, Night, and City—differentiated by bear capacity. Summer Dens hold two bears and 150 are available; City Dens hold 32 bears with only 50 in existence. Owners can personalize dens with furniture purchasable through the in-ecosystem shop. Dens are acquired either from the SBG Shop at solanabeargang.com/shop, priced in $BERRY or SOL, or on the secondary market via Magic Eden.

The den structure creates a sink for $BERRY tokens: players who want to expand their mission capacity must spend the token to acquire or upgrade dens, helping offset issuance from the missions system.

Revenue Sharing

SBG holders access revenue-sharing portals that distribute income from ecosystem activity. The model was initially tied to Rumble Racers—a racing game developed as a dedicated SBG gaming layer where players competed in duels and tiered competition rooms for SOL prizes, with a share of each race's revenue flowing back to bear holders proportionally. Rumble Racers has since come to an end; the site now displays a closure notice and directs users to SBG social channels. The status of revenue-sharing portals beyond the racing game is not publicly detailed at the time of writing, though the broader mission and token infrastructure remains active.

Community and Team

The project is led by a six-person team: two co-founders handling business and development, a marketing and community lead, a game development consultant, and two community managers and moderators. The team describes SBG as "a friendly, community-oriented project" that aims to reward holders through games, platforms, and giveaways. The community maintains a Discord server and an active Twitter presence under @solanabeargang.

Current Status

As of late 2025, the core Solana Bear Gang infrastructure—the 888-bear collection, the $BERRY token, and the missions system—remains operational. The token achieved a significant distribution milestone with its Phantom Wallet native listing in August 2025. Rumble Racers, the project's most prominent third-party integration, has shut down. The Gen 1 collection continues to trade on secondary markets, and the Den collection and shop remain accessible to holders.
