Smyths

Smyths is a lore-driven Solana NFT collection of 4,444 unique digital characters, each described as "noble beings forged through sacred flames." Rooted in Scandinavian mythology and drawing on themes of swords, sorcery, and factional allegiance, the project launched in March 2022 under the name Blocksmiths before evolving into one of the more structurally ambitious NFT projects on Solana.

Origins and the Ascension

When the collection debuted in March 2022, the original NFTs—now called OG Smyths—featured a distinctive front-facing portrait style that set them apart from the profile-picture format popular at the time. The art depicted blacksmiths and forged warriors drawn from a fictional Pantheon, a world split between two supernatural factions.

By November 2022, Blocksmith Labs opened the Ascension process, allowing holders to permanently upgrade their OG Smyths by burning 917 $FORGE tokens. Ascending a Smyth transformed the NFT's artwork from the original portrait style to the more conventional sideways PFP format, and committed the holder to one of two factions: the Aesir, a warrior clan rendered in bright, heroic tones, or the Vanir, a sorcerer faction depicted with darker, more arcane aesthetics. The decision is irreversible, making each Ascension a meaningful narrative and economic choice rather than a simple cosmetic upgrade.

In early 2023, the team formally separated the NFT brand from the parent company. The collection became "Smyths" while the organization building the surrounding tooling retained the name "Blocksmith Labs." The rebrand was framed as a structural clarification—giving the company room to operate different products under a shared umbrella without conflating the NFT collection with the business.

The Blocksmith Labs Ecosystem

What distinguishes Smyths from most NFT collections is the depth of the product layer Blocksmith Labs built around it. The parent company developed a suite of interconnected Solana-native tools, all tied together by the $FORGE utility token. Holding a Smyth—especially an Ascended one—grants access to preferential terms across these platforms.

Bifrost is Blocksmith Labs' price discovery launchpad, designed with anti-bot mechanisms to give genuine collectors a fairer shot at new mints. It functions as a Dutch auction-style platform where prices settle according to real demand rather than arbitrary fixed prices.

Mercury is a whitelist management tool for both collectors and project teams. For holders, it provides early access and whitelist allocations across hundreds of onboarded projects, with the platform reporting exposure to over 60,000 Solana users. For project teams, it simplifies the collection of whitelist addresses and grants significant promotional reach.

Raven is a gamified marketing platform that rewards community participation—following accounts, retweeting, engaging with posts—with points and entries into giveaways. It sits at the intersection of social engagement and NFT promotion.

SHIFT is a dynamic art generation engine that enables NFT holders to customize or upgrade their tokens' visual properties on-chain. The engine underpinned the Ascension mechanic and opens the door to further art-driven events within the Smyths lore.

Atlas3 is Blocksmith Labs' most expansive tool, built as a central NFT activity hub for the Solana ecosystem. It combines raffle management, whitelist tooling, collection discovery, and market data into a single interface, serving as an aggregator layer for the broader Solana NFT scene rather than just Smyths holders.

Taken together, these tools gave Blocksmith Labs a credible claim as a builder-first NFT project—one where the parent company's output extends far beyond the collection itself and where Smyths holders sit at the top of an ecosystem with genuine ongoing development.

$FORGE Token

The $FORGE token serves as the economic backbone of the entire Blocksmith Labs ecosystem. OG Smyths holders earn approximately 8–10 $FORGE per day through staking, while Ascended Smyths yield around 12 $FORGE daily. The token has a maximum supply of 44 million, with roughly 10 million in circulation at peak ecosystem activity.

$FORGE functions as currency across the platform suite: spending tokens for Ascension, entering raffles, accessing premium Mercury features, and participating in Shift-based art events. Spent tokens cycle back into treasury and community incentive pools rather than being permanently destroyed, sustaining the internal economy.

As of mid-2026, $FORGE trades at approximately $0.005 USD—significantly below its 2025 high of around $0.086—reflecting the broader contraction in Solana NFT market activity that has affected most collections since the 2021–2022 peak. The staking mechanic remains functional, and the token continues to trade on secondary markets.

Meeegos and Ecosystem Expansion

Blocksmith Labs extended its NFT footprint with the launch of Meeegos, a 10,000-character collection with associated gaming and events components. Meeegos represents the company's attempt to broaden beyond the original 4,444-supply constraint of Smyths while maintaining the same ecosystem structure and $FORGE integration.

Community and Ownership

With 4,444 NFTs held across roughly 2,300 unique wallets, Smyths has a relatively concentrated ownership profile—approximately 53% unique holder rate, which is typical for a collection of its vintage. The factional split between Aesir and Vanir holders has created distinct subcommunities within the broader Smyths holder base, each with its own visual identity and, at times, competing incentives within lore events.

Status

Smyths and the Blocksmith Labs ecosystem remain active as of September 2026. The official website at smyths.io is live, Atlas3 and the other platform tools continue to operate, and $FORGE trades on secondary markets. The project's floor price has declined substantially from its peak, consistent with the wider decline in Solana NFT valuations, but the structural layer Blocksmith Labs built—six distinct products connected by a shared token—gives it more operational continuity than projects that relied solely on collection hype. The team continues to maintain its online presence and the core infrastructure of its ecosystem tools.
