About

OneKey

OneKey is a fully open-source hardware and software crypto wallet ecosystem supporting 100+ blockchains and 30,000+ tokens, combining cold storage hardware, mobile and desktop apps, and DeFi features under a single self-custody platform.

What OneKey Is

Founded in September 2020, OneKey set out to build what it describes as "the truly open source crypto wallet." Unlike most hardware wallet manufacturers, OneKey publishes its firmware, app code, and hardware design specifications on GitHub under the handle onekeyhq, making every component auditable and independently verifiable. The project supports over 100 blockchains and 30,000+ tokens, including Solana and the broader SPL token ecosystem, positioning it as a multi-chain self-custody solution for both retail users and experienced DeFi participants.

OneKey raised a Series B round in June 2026 at a $150 million valuation, led by YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs). Earlier backers include Coinbase Ventures, Dragonfly Capital, and Ribbit Capital — a lineup that reflects institutional confidence in the open-source hardware wallet segment.

Hardware Product Line

OneKey's hardware lineup spans several form factors to serve different security and usability needs.

OneKey Pro is the flagship device, featuring four EAL 6+ secure elements, a fingerprint biometric unlock, air-gapped QR code signing, and Qi wireless charging. Independent reviewer Milk Road scored it 4.8 out of 5, and it passed all ten of WalletScrutiny's rigorous reproducibility tests, confirming that private keys are generated offline by the user and stored entirely within secure elements. The Pro is aimed at high-value holders and active DeFi traders who want the most stringent hardware security without sacrificing usability.

OneKey Classic 1S Series comes in a standard Bluetooth-enabled version, the battery-free "Pure" edition, and a Bitcoin-only variant. These thinner devices are positioned as entry-level cold storage and are among the most popular picks for users moving from software wallets to hardware self-custody for the first time.

OneKey Lite is an encrypted backup card designed for seed phrase storage using military-grade encryption, functioning as a secure recovery method without exposing a written mnemonic.

OneKey KeyTag is an unbreakable titanium backup kit for stamping seed phrases into metal, protecting against fire, water, and physical damage.

Across the hardware lineup, OneKey has obtained ISO/IEC 27001 certification and EU NB Certification (EN 18031), and firmware has been independently audited by SlowMist. All secure elements operate at EAL 6+ — the same security level used in government-issued passports and EMV bank cards.

Software Ecosystem

OneKey's software layer is where most day-to-day interaction happens. The OneKey App is available on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, and a browser extension supports Chrome and compatible browsers. The web interface is accessible at app.onekey.so. Wallet migration tools support imports from MetaMask, Phantom, and other popular wallets.

Features embedded in the app include:

  • Token swaps across supported chains, including zero-fee promotional swaps for select assets
  • OneKey Perps, a perpetual futures trading platform that has expanded beyond crypto to include precious metals, forex, and pre-IPO asset markets
  • Gas Sponsorship, launched in July 2026, enabling users to transfer and trade without paying gas fees on supported networks
  • Kamino integration (added January 2026), allowing direct borrowing through the DeFi protocol from within the OneKey interface
  • Robinhood Chain support (July 2026), enabling trading and bridging of Robinhood Chain assets in-app
  • Bitrefill integration for spending crypto on gift cards and bill payments directly from self-custody

Solana Ecosystem Fit

OneKey supports Solana natively across both its hardware and software products. Users can store, send, and receive SOL and SPL tokens using the Classic 1S or Pro hardware wallets connected to the OneKey App or browser extension. The interface supports Solana NFT management and browsing of Solana dApps and DeFi protocols. Cross-chain swaps allow users to move assets between Solana and other supported chains without leaving the wallet.

The open-source nature of OneKey's wallet migration tools makes it straightforward for existing Solana users — including those coming from Phantom — to transition to hardware-backed self-custody, a use case OneKey has actively marketed. The Kamino lending integration extends this to Solana DeFi participants who want to borrow against their holdings without leaving the app.

Coincub's overall review gave OneKey 4.2 out of 5, with consistent marks across interface quality, multi-chain support, backup and recovery procedures, and transparency — citing particular strength in setup simplicity relative to competing hardware wallet brands.

Open Source Commitment

All firmware, app code, and hardware schematics are published on GitHub and designed for reproducible builds. This means security researchers and advanced users can compile the firmware themselves and verify it matches what ships on physical devices. Independent audits by SlowMist provide a second layer of verification. OneKey has patched disclosed vulnerabilities promptly, maintaining an active security posture rather than a set-and-forget model.

Team and History

OneKey was founded in September 2020 and operates under the domain onekey.so. The company has grown from a basic hardware wallet manufacturer into a multi-product financial access layer. Its Series B at a $150 million valuation in mid-2026 reflects meaningful commercial traction. The product suite has expanded steadily from cold storage hardware to encompass DeFi, perpetual trading, ecosystem integrations, and software wallets across every major platform.

Summary

OneKey occupies a distinct position in the Solana and broader multi-chain ecosystem: a fully open-source, audited, hardware-plus-software wallet platform with institutional backing, an expanding DeFi feature set, and a security architecture built on EAL 6+ secure elements. For Solana users seeking self-custody without sacrificing access to DeFi and cross-chain functionality, OneKey provides both the cold storage hardware and the software layer to interact with the ecosystem — all with source code that is publicly verifiable.
