About

DISTRIBUTE

DISTRIBUTE was a no-code Solana token launchpad built on the Token-2022 standard's transfer fee extension, designed to let projects create tokens that automatically distribute a portion of every transaction to existing holders, paid in SOL. It launched in February 2025 and shut down in December 2025 after ten months of operation.

The Mechanism

The core value proposition of DISTRIBUTE was simplifying the creation of tokens with built-in holder reward distributions. Every token launched through DISTRIBUTE used Token-2022's native transfer fee extension to charge a 7% fee on every transfer. The collected fees were aggregated and distributed to existing holders as SOL — not in the project's own token — creating a self-sustaining passive income stream for holders proportional to their token share.

Unlike older transfer-tax tokens that required custom programs and off-chain bots to distribute fees, Token-2022's built-in fee extension made the fee collection permissionless and on-chain, reducing the trust requirement for buyers and the operational overhead for project teams.

Two Launch Tracks

DISTRIBUTE offered two types of launches:

Standard tax tokens: 7% transfer fee → collected in SOL → distributed to holders. Simple, straightforward.

Bonding curve tokens: Tradeable directly on Raydium Launchlab, GMGN, and Photon. These tokens launched on a bonding curve mechanism, similar to Pump.fun's model, and graduated to open market trading when the curve filled.

A referral program paid 0.25% of fees to any wallet that referred a user to the platform, incentivizing community members to promote new launches.

Peak Activity

At its peak, DISTRIBUTE reported more than 5,000 SOL distributed across holders in a single three-day period. One token launched on the platform reached a $7 million market cap within days of launch. These peaks corresponded to the overall Solana memecoin market highs in early-to-mid 2025.

Shutdown

DISTRIBUTE announced its shutdown on December 10, 2025. The team cited three months without a single new token launch as evidence that the platform had become commercially unviable. The domain was registered on February 28, 2025, meaning DISTRIBUTE operated for under ten months before closing. No successor product was announced.

The shutdown was consistent with broader consolidation in the Solana token launchpad space during the second half of 2025, as launch activity on newer platforms (Pump.fun, Raydium Launchlab, Bonk launch) and market conditions shifted.

Team and Security

DISTRIBUTE was operated by a pseudonymous team. No founder names, corporate entity, or institutional affiliations were publicly disclosed. No independent security audit of the DISTRIBUTE smart contracts was published. The Token-2022 standard itself is developed and maintained by the Solana Labs team and has been independently reviewed, but the DISTRIBUTE-specific contracts implementing the distribution logic were not separately audited by an external firm.
