xStocks AAPLx$337.93-1.9% tokenized equities are now live in Kraken Wallet, the exchange's self-custody mobile app, giving eligible users access to more than 700 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs for 24/7 on-chain trading. The announcement came from xStocks on August 28, with the Kraken legal disclosure page confirming product details independently.
The Kraken Wallet launch extends xStocks beyond its Kraken Pro home, where the product has traded since September 2025. Self-custody access lets holders withdraw tokenized shares directly to their own wallet, trade across decentralized venues at any hour, and put the assets to work in DeFi protocols like Kamino and Raydium without converting first.
What 700+ Tokenized Assets in a Self-Custody Wallet Means for On-Chain Equities
xStocks are SPL tokens on Solana, each backed 1:1 by an underlying share held in regulated custody. Issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited, a Jersey entity now part of the Kraken group, and offered through Payward Digital Solutions Ltd. (Bermuda-licensed), the tokens carry equity price exposure but no shareholder voting rights or direct ownership claim to the underlying company. Real-world dividends are automatically reinvested as additional token balance rather than paid out as cash.
The current catalog covers more than 700 stocks and ETFs, up from 60 at the platform's June 2025 launch. That span includes individual names such as Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla alongside broad-market index funds. Because the tokens trade on-chain continuously, holders can transact outside traditional stock-market hours, including weekends.
Since launch, xStocks has processed more than $38 billion in total transaction volume across centralized and decentralized venues. Solana's tokenized equity market recorded $1.45 billion in July volume at 82% global market share, with xStocks accounting for most of that supply.
xStocks Led Tokenized-Stock Issuance Growth With $17M Added This Week
Alongside the Kraken Wallet launch, the RWA Foundation reported this week, citing Token Terminal data, that xStocks led all tokenized-stock issuers in weekly issuance growth, adding $17 million in new stock issuance over the past seven days.
Kraken has steadily expanded the xStocks product through 2026. In June, Kraken Pro enabled xStocks as collateral for futures and margin trading, letting holders of assets like SPYx, NVDAx, and TSLAx borrow against their positions without selling. The Kraken Wallet integration carries that composability further into self-custody territory.
Geo Restrictions and Issuer Details: Not Available to US Persons
The product is not available to residents or persons of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, or Australia. The Kraken risk disclosure confirms these exclusions, and xStocks stated in a thread reply that geo restrictions apply. Per xStocks, eligible users span more than 110 countries.
Kraken does not hold custody of the underlying shares. Per that disclosure, the underlying stocks are maintained in depositary institutions under a custody agreement to which Kraken is not a party. Investing in xStocks carries the risk of total loss.
