Pyth Network PYTH$0.065+5.6% has added Anthropic and OpenAI as its newest Pyth Indices, making them the first pre-IPO private companies to have continuously updating indicative pricing on the platform. The two feeds, Pyth.Index.ANTHROPIC/USD and Pyth.Index.OPENAI/USD, went live on September 17, 2026, and are available through Pyth Terminal.
What Pyth.Index.ANTHROPIC/USD and Pyth.Index.OPENAI/USD Actually Measure
The two feeds are "informational, indicative indicators derived from limited secondary-market and other third-party data," per Pyth's official announcement. They aggregate available signals into continuously updated company-level indicators. They are not public stock prices, financing valuations, fair-value appraisals, or tradable security prices.
The key distinction from existing private-market data is continuity. Traditional secondary-market signals for pre-IPO companies appear sporadically, tied to financing events or broker-facilitated transactions. The Pyth indices update 24/7, including weekends and traditional market holidays, reflecting that announcements, funding rounds, product launches, and policy developments affecting private AI companies do not wait for Monday morning.
Access requires separate commercial terms from Pyth Pro. Institutional buyers, exchanges, asset managers, and applications can request access through dedicated channels.
Anthropic and OpenAI on the Path to Public Markets
Both companies have moved materially toward public listings in 2026. Anthropic raised a Series H in May 2026 at a $965 billion post-money valuation and filed a confidential S-1 with the SEC in June 2026, selecting Nasdaq for its listing.
OpenAI closed a major financing round in March 2026 at an $852 billion post-money valuation and filed its own confidential S-1 in June 2026. The company has indicated it will not go public this year.
The Pyth Indices for both companies follow Pyth's expansion into 24/7 commodity and equity indices launched in June 2026 with WTI and Brent crude oil feeds, and the subsequent 21-index milestone in July that included Amazon, Meta, Palantir, and Samsung. Adding Anthropic and OpenAI extends the product into private-market territory for the first time.
Pyth's Infrastructure Position as Tokenized Equities Expand
The timing aligns with a broader shift in Solana's tokenized securities ecosystem. On September 17, the SEC issued an order granting temporary conditional exemptive relief to Tokenized Securities Venues from the definition of "exchange" under the Exchange Act, clearing a path for tokenized U.S. equities to trade in permissioned onchain pools.
Pyth noted in response that over 95% of existing onchain RWA perpetual volume already relies on Pyth data, with CFTC-regulated exchanges, public U.S. companies, and federal agencies among its data network participants.
That infrastructure positioning runs parallel to activity from Solana applications building on tokenized equities. Backpack expanded equity collateral to all 17 of its listed stocks and ETFs earlier today, one of several tokenized equity products running on Solana where Pyth data feeds into the pricing layer.
The Pyth Indices product sits outside Pyth Pro, which posted $10.4M in annualized recurring revenue in August 2026, up 39% month-over-month. The separate commercial structure for the indices suggests Pyth is treating the pre-IPO private-company data category as a distinct offering from its existing enterprise market data subscription.
PYTH (PYTH) is the native token of the network.
