Jupiter to Sunset JUICED Loop in Late September, Fee Magnifier Awaits Open Positions
Jupiter Lend is retiring JUICED Loop in late September. Open loop positions must close before a fee magnifier activates; the JUICED token itself is unaffected.
Jupiter JUP$0.376+11.2% has announced the retirement of its JUICED Loop leveraged yield strategy, with active users required to close positions before a fee magnifier activates in the final week of September.
The announcement, posted by the official @JupiterExchange account on September 16, lays out a three-step wind-down for the product on Jupiter Earn. Borrow limits have been reduced to prevent any new looping positions from being opened. JUICED incentives on the loop will then end. In the final week of September, Jupiter plans to apply a fee magnifier to any positions that remain open, a mechanism designed to push users who have not exited to close out.
What the JUICED Loop Was
JUICED Loop is a pre-built leveraged strategy on Jupiter Lend that applied maximum leverage to a pegged vault. Users deposited JUICED, a yield-bearing SPL token that represents a JupUSD deposit, as collateral and borrowed USDC or USDT against it. The protocol automatically looped the borrow back into more JUICED, compounding the exposure to the spread between the JUICED yield rate and the stablecoin borrow rate.
JUICED yields from two sources: borrowing interest from JupUSD utilisation on Jupiter Lend, and T-bill yield from the reserves backing minted JupUSD, which include Ethena's USDtb and USDC. The loop strategy sat under Jupiter Lend's Strategies tab alongside JupSOL Loop, INF Loop, and others, in two variants: JUICED Loop - USDC and JUICED Loop - USDT. Jupiter's documentation listed its primary risk as rate risk: if the borrow APY on USDC or USDT exceeded the JUICED supply yield for a sustained period, positions would erode in value, an effect amplified at maximum leverage.
Who Needs to Act, and Who Does Not
Only users with open JUICED Loop positions on Jupiter Lend need to act before the late September deadline. Per Jupiter's strategy documentation, a withdrawal fully unwinds the position in a single transaction: the protocol uses a flashloan to repay all outstanding debt and returns the remaining net value to the wallet.
The JUICED token itself, issued by the Jupiter Lend Earn protocol and accruing yield from JupUSD utilisation and T-bill income, is not being retired. The token has roughly 3,900 holders on Solana Compass as of September 16; all of them can continue to hold and earn as normal. JupUSD Earn Vaults are also unaffected, as confirmed by the @jupiter_earn account in a follow-up post shortly after the main announcement.
Jupiter Lend After v2: Smart Collateral, $1.9B in Deposits
The JUICED Loop sunset follows Jupiter Lend v2, which launched in August 2026 and added Smart Collateral and Smart Debt features allowing deposits and borrowed positions to simultaneously act as trading liquidity. Jupiter Lend held approximately $1.9 billion in deposits and $822.7 million in active loans at the time of that launch, per CoinDesk reporting. Jupiter has not specified a reason for retiring the JUICED Loop strategy, and its other products (perps, swap, and lending) continue to operate normally.
Users with open JUICED Loop positions can close them via the Strategies tab at jup.ag/lend/strategies.
