Currenc and Securitize Partner to Help Listed Companies Tokenize Their Shares on Solana and Ethereum
Currenc Capital and Securitize help listed companies pursue issuer-sponsored equity tokenization on Solana and Ethereum, preserving full shareholder rights.
CURRENC Capital Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Currenc Group (Nasdaq: CURR), and Securitize (NYSE: SECZ) announced a strategic partnership on August 26 to work with listed companies evaluating issuer-sponsored tokenization of their public shares on both Ethereum and Solana SOL.
The deal formalizes what Currenc has been building since April 2026. The Hong Kong-based AI fintech offers digital remittance services and an AI call centre platform to banks, telecoms, and financial institutions; it became one of the first Nasdaq-listed companies to tokenize its ordinary shares on both Ethereum and Solana that April. CURRENC Capital now brings that operational experience to a broader advisory role, pairing it with Securitize's regulated digital-securities infrastructure to help other public companies evaluate the same path.
What Issuer-Sponsored Tokenization Means for Public Companies
Issuer-sponsored tokenization is distinct from the synthetic or third-party models that currently dominate the onchain stock market. Under a synthetic approach, a third party tracks a stock's price using a broker or special vehicle, without giving holders any direct corporate rights. Under the issuer-sponsored model, the company itself authorizes the onchain representation, and the tokens maintain formal linkage to the official share registry, preserving voting rights, dividends, and regulatory status under existing securities law.
The CURRENC Capital and Securitize collaboration targets exactly that model. Securitize's regulated affiliates may provide tokenization and capital-markets infrastructure to issuers who proceed, while CURRENC Capital contributes the management-level perspective of having already navigated the process, including the operational, legal, and communications decisions a public company must make before going onchain.
Securitize's Regulated Infrastructure and $5B AUM Footprint
Securitize is the largest tokenized-assets platform by assets under management, with approximately $5 billion in AUM as of August 2026. Its institutional partners include Apollo, BlackRock, BNY, Hamilton Lane, KKR, and VanEck. The company operates regulated digital-securities infrastructure in both US and EU markets and was named to Forbes' 2026 Fintech 50 and CNBC's World's Top Fintech Companies 2026 list.
Solana as the Rail for Onchain Equity Ownership
The partnership's focus on Solana reflects where listed-equity tokenization is already concentrating. Solana's tokenized equity supply reached $465 million in August 2026, driven by growth in both issuer-sponsored and third-party instruments. The broader Solana RWA ecosystem crossed $4 billion in total value for the first time earlier this month, and tokenized-stock DEX volume on Solana reached $5.8 billion in Q2 2026 before further acceleration in July and August.
The benefits cited by both companies for issuer-sponsored tokens (24/7 market access, programmable settlement, and new forms of shareholder engagement) are capabilities Solana's architecture already supports at scale. For issuers considering the move, the CURRENC Capital and Securitize arrangement offers a guided path through the regulatory and operational questions that currently deter most public companies from acting independently.
