'Mint (NASDAQ: MIMI) to Tokenize Its Nasdaq-Listed Shares on Solana and Ethereum
'Mint (NASDAQ: MIMI) signed a binding deal with CURRENC Capital to tokenize
Mint Incorporation Limited (NASDAQ: MIMI), a Hong Kong-based AI and robotics company, announced September 3 that it has signed a binding consulting agreement with CURRENC Capital Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Currenc Group Inc. (NASDAQ: CURR), to tokenize a portion of its issued and outstanding Class A ordinary shares on the Ethereum and Solana blockchains.
CURRENC Capital will provide end-to-end advisory and facilitation support for the process, with transfer agent, registrar, and tokenization platform services handled under a separate arrangement. Neither the portion of shares to be tokenized nor the timeline for completion was disclosed.
What Issuer-Sponsored Tokenization Means vs. Synthetic Stock Tokens
The Mint deal is structured as issuer-sponsored tokenization: the company directly authorizes its registered shares to be placed onchain, meaning no shareholder rights change hands. Voting rights, economic entitlements, and legal ownership remain governed by Mint's Memorandum and Articles of Association.
This distinguishes it from the secondary-market wrapped tokens and derivatives that have driven most of Solana's tokenized stock trading volume to date. Those products let traders gain price exposure to equities without the issuing company's involvement and, as a result, without the accompanying shareholder rights. Issuer-sponsored tokens represent the actual registered security; the issuing company is a direct participant in the onchain infrastructure.
Mint's Class A shares will continue to trade on the Nasdaq Capital Market and settle through standard Nasdaq settlement arrangements. No trading market for the tokens exists, and the company's press release states no assurance can be given that any such market will develop.
CURRENC Capital's Role and the April 2026 Currenc Precedent
CURRENC Capital was established specifically to drive issuer-sponsored tokenization of public-company shares. Its parent, Currenc Group, became one of the first Nasdaq-listed companies to bring its ordinary shares onchain in April 2026, when Securitize tokenized Currenc's shares across Ethereum and Solana.
That first-hand experience is central to what CURRENC Capital is now selling as a service. In late August 2026, CURRENC Capital and Securitize announced a strategic collaboration to scale that advisory offering to other listed companies. The Mint deal is the first public client announcement to follow.
Why Solana Leads On-Chain Equity Infrastructure
Solana has become the primary infrastructure for on-chain equity trading over 2026. The network captured 95% of on-chain equity trading volume in June 2026, recording $10 billion in tokenized stock volume in that month alone. Two days before the Mint announcement, the London Stock Exchange and Payward agreed to tokenize the 100 largest UK-listed equities as xStocks on Solana, pending regulatory approval.
Mint frames its choice as consistent with its existing business focus. The company, through its Axonex AI subsidiary and Rice Robotics AGI joint venture, builds autonomous facility management and consumer robotics systems. Extending that digital-first approach to shareholder infrastructure is the rationale cited in the press release.
Regulatory Conditions: No Timeline, No Token Trading Market
Completion of the tokenization remains subject to applicable regulatory requirements, and the companies have not committed to a timeline. The press release explicitly cautions that there is no assurance the tokenization will be completed or completed on the expected schedule.
The announcement adds to a growing pipeline of listed companies pursuing issuer-sponsored tokenization on Solana, with CURRENC Capital and Securitize now operating as a formal joint offering to the market.
