Backpack Wallet Launches Explore Feature, Unifying Trending Crypto, US Stocks, and dApps in One Screen

Backpack released a redesigned Explore screen for its mobile wallet on July 25, surfacing trending crypto assets, tokenized US equities from its regulated brokerage, and decentralized applications in a single scrollable feed. The update gives users a unified discovery surface across three asset classes that had previously required separate tabs or apps to navigate.

The new Explore tab draws live content from three of Backpack's core products: the Backpack crypto exchange, Backpack Securities (the platform's licensed US brokerage for real US equities), and the wallet's built-in dApp browser. A user opening the wallet now sees trending tokens, stocks trading around the clock through the brokerage, and active decentralized applications without switching contexts.

Backpack Securities opened to public beta in June 2026, offering investors across more than 150 markets the ability to buy, hold, and trade real US equities continuously, including weekends and public holidays. Account holders receive genuine security entitlements rather than synthetic derivatives; settlements use stablecoins. A tokenized Robinhood share, HOODx (HOODx), listed on Solana in July via the Sunrise tokenization protocol as an early example of the equities now surfaced in the Explore feed.

The Explore launch caps a run of shipping from Backpack. The team added a dividends tracking tab, USDT0 deposits, and a light mode in a single day in late June and later waived trading fees on all US stocks through July as its tokenized securities roster expanded.

How Backpack's Approach Differs from Phantom's Robinhood Chain Integration

Phantom CASH$0.999-0.1% added support for Robinhood Chain this week, routing its users into Robinhood's own tokenized equity infrastructure. The two wallet strategies differ structurally: Phantom connects to a separate chain operated by Robinhood, while Backpack clears and custodies its equities through its own licensed brokerage on Solana.

Both approaches give crypto-native users exposure to US stocks without leaving a Web3 wallet, reflecting a broader convergence between traditional securities infrastructure and on-chain finance that has moved quickly on Solana through mid-2026.
