Backpack Exchange Launches Stock Screener for Its Tokenized Equities Neobrokerage
Backpack Exchange's Stock Screener went live July 16, adding preset market signal screens and custom fundamental filters to its Solana-based neobrokerage.
Backpack launched its Stock Screener on July 16, adding a professional-grade stock discovery tool to its Solana-based tokenized equities platform. The screener gives users three ways to work through roughly 1,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs available on the exchange: preset screens that surface key market signals, custom filter combinations built from fundamentals and technical data, and a side-by-side comparison view that stacks price performance, market activity, and company metrics across multiple tickers.
The announcement came via the official @Backpack account with the line "Screen. Research. Trade. One neobrokerage." The follow-up reply linked directly to backpack.exchange/stocks/screener.
What the Stock Screener Covers
The preset screens act as shortcuts to common investment filters (momentum signals, value screens, and similar market-activity groupings) without requiring users to configure conditions from scratch. From there, traders can layer on custom filters drawn from fundamental data, combining criteria such as revenue growth, earnings metrics, and market cap to narrow the field to names matching a specific strategy.
A side-by-side comparison view allows multiple tickers to be evaluated at once, pulling price performance across timeframes alongside company fundamentals and market activity data. A user can run a screen, shortlist candidates, and complete the comparison without leaving the platform.
Both the preset and custom filter modes feed into the same comparison view, accessible from the Stocks navigation once logged into Backpack.
Three Days, Four Research Tools
The Stock Screener is the fourth distinct research capability Backpack has shipped in three days. On July 14, the exchange added a 13F institutional filing viewer, pulling SEC disclosures from major hedge funds into the platform. On July 15, it added Popular Portfolios, an Earnings Calendar, and an Insider Transactions tracker, giving users access to the holdings of investors like Warren Buffett and Stanley Druckenmiller alongside upcoming earnings dates and officer buying and selling data.
Those three features handle research on specific stocks once they are already selected. The screener works earlier in the process: it generates the candidate list. Together the tools form a research workflow built entirely inside the exchange: screen to find names, then dig into earnings timing, insider activity, and institutional positioning before placing a trade.
Backpack Securities in Public Beta
Backpack Securities, the brokerage arm behind the stock trading features, is still in public beta, with plans to expand to the full US equity market once the beta closes. Trading runs Monday through Friday across US market sessions, with fractional shares available during regular hours and a minimum of one full share outside core hours.
Backpack describes the shares as real security entitlements, the same legal category of ownership available at firms like Schwab or Fidelity, not synthetic products or CFDs. Positions sit in the same account alongside crypto holdings, with stablecoin-funded settlement and unified portfolio margin across both asset classes.
Mobile support is still in progress; the platform currently runs on web only.
Screener as Stock Discovery on Solana
Tokenized equities on Solana have so far been framed primarily around extended trading hours and on-chain settlement. The Stock Screener pushes the category into professional research territory: a full screening tool built into an exchange that settles tokenized US equities on Solana is a different product proposition than simply accessing the same stocks outside regular market hours.
Backpack has moved to close that gap quickly. Whether the pace of feature shipping translates into a durable user base is a question the public beta will answer.
