Dangote Petroleum Refinery opened its initial public offering for subscription on September 14, 2026. Investors with stablecoins on Solana can now participate directly. NectarFi, a Solana-based financial platform powered by GetEquity's capital markets infrastructure, went live with the offering the same morning, routing stablecoin deposits into the IPO subscription at a minimum of ₦10,000, roughly $7.50 at current rates.

The IPO is Africa's largest by valuation. At ₦525 per share, the 4.1 billion shares on offer imply an enterprise value of approximately $49 billion and a target raise of $1.63 billion, equivalent to roughly 41% of Nigeria's total equity market capitalisation of $118.66 billion.

How NectarFi and GetEquity Connect Solana Stablecoins to the Dangote IPO

NectarFi is a Solana-native financial platform founded in Nigeria as part of Superteam Nigeria's blockchain ecosystem. The platform lets users save, earn yield, and make cross-border payments using stablecoins including USDC, without lockups. Since launching publicly it has processed over $7 million in transaction volume across more than 1,000 users in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, and markets beyond the continent. The platform closed a $170,000 pre-seed round in April 2026.

For the Dangote IPO, NectarFi is using GetEquity's infrastructure. GetEquity focuses on expanding access to private-market and equity investments in Africa; it serves over 22,000 users and has processed $2 billion in transactions, per figures shared at Solana Summit Nigeria. Together, the two platforms convert on-chain stablecoin balances into valid IPO subscriptions processed through the Nigerian Exchange's formal settlement system, according to NectarFi's launch announcement.

The subscription mechanism does not tokenize the equity itself; the underlying shares are issued and settled through the Nigerian Exchange's conventional infrastructure. What NectarFi and GetEquity provide is a stablecoin on-ramp, so that users who hold their savings on-chain can subscribe without going through traditional naira banking channels. That lowers barriers for the diaspora and for Africans in countries without direct NGX access, groups that had largely been excluded from previous Dangote corporate fundraising rounds.

Dangote Refinery IPO Terms: Offer Price, Minimum Investment, and Timeline

The offer runs from September 14 to October 13, 2026. Shares are scheduled to begin trading on the Nigerian Exchange in November 2026, with a secondary US listing expected in approximately three to four years, per Billionaires Africa.

A total of 4.1 billion ordinary shares are available from total registered shares of 120.13 billion, according to Billionaires Africa. Retail investors entering through the NGX's 40 approved banks, mobile operators, and fintech platforms can subscribe at a minimum of 10 shares for ₦5,250, roughly $4. NectarFi's minimum is ₦10,000 or the dollar equivalent.

Dangote has attached a greenshoe option that would allow the total raise to reach $2.1 billion if the offer is oversubscribed. Aliko Dangote currently holds 92.3% of the refinery; after the issuance his stake falls to approximately 89.25%, worth roughly $44.1 billion at the offer price, per Billionaires Africa.

Institutional investors who participated in the $2.5 billion private placement that closed in July 2026 paid $0.35 per share, below the retail IPO price of ₦525 ($0.40), and accepted a 365-day lock-up. The July round was oversubscribed 3.7 times.

What the IPO Covers: Refinery Scale and Financial Performance

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery operates in the Lekki Free Zone in Lagos at a current capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, tested up to 700,000 barrels, per Billionaires Africa. The refinery targets 1.4 million barrels per day within five years of listing, at which point it would surpass the world's largest refineries by output. It already holds the title of the world's largest single-train refinery.

Financial performance has shifted sharply since the refinery began operations in 2024. Net income for the first half of 2026 was $1.82 billion, compared to a net loss of $476 million in the equivalent period of 2025, according to Billionaires Africa. Nigeria's historical dependence on imported refined petroleum products was central to the refinery's investment rationale; the project was designed to shift the country from net importer to net exporter of refined fuel.

Solana's Growing Role in African Capital Markets Access

The Dangote IPO subscription marks the highest-profile case to date of Solana stablecoin infrastructure being used to access a traditional African equity offering. Solana's RWA ecosystem has grown substantially through 2026: the network logged $10 billion in tokenized stock volume in June, and RWA holders on Solana surpassed 300,000 in July, an all-time high at the time.

African users have been a measurable part of that growth. At Solana Summit Nigeria earlier this year, GetEquity announced its Solana integration alongside Risevest, Hisa, and Assetbase, platforms that collectively serve over one million Africans and allow real-world asset purchases through Solana wallets, per Solana Floor's summit coverage.

NectarFi's Dangote IPO integration extends that access to a public equity offering of a scale Africa has not previously seen. The subscription closes October 13.
