Zend Personal

Zend Personal is a wallet that enables individual users to deposit, swap, and withdraw a range of digital assets. The Quick Sell feature allows users to convert crypto holdings to local African fiat currencies through an integrated off-ramp with transfers to linked bank accounts. ZendPay enables peer-to-peer crypto transfers between platform users through saved wallet addresses. Account access and transaction limits are governed by tiered KYC verification levels.

About

ZendWallet

ZendWallet is a cryptocurrency wallet and exchange platform designed for African users, built by Lagos-based Zendwa Technologies Limited. Founded in 2022, the platform positions itself under the tagline "Smart Finance From Africa To The World Securely," aiming to give individuals and businesses across Africa low-cost access to global digital assets and cross-border payments.

Core Mechanism

ZendWallet operates as a centralized custody wallet and in-app exchange. Users deposit supported cryptocurrencies into their ZendWallet account, swap between assets within the app, and can withdraw either to external wallet addresses or directly to local bank accounts in African currencies. The platform does not support direct fiat-to-crypto purchases via card or bank transfer for buying in; users fund via crypto deposit and then swap to their desired asset.

The cross-border payments layer is built on stablecoins. ZendWallet routes international business payments through USDC and USDT, letting African businesses pay overseas suppliers in USD, CAD, EUR, or GBP while funding the transaction from local currency. On the receive side, the platform converts stablecoins to local fiat and remits to bank accounts in Nigerian naira (NGN), Kenyan shilling (KES), South African rand (ZAR), and Ghanaian cedi (GHS).

Key Features

  • Send and receive crypto: Users can send and receive supported digital assets instantly to any compatible wallet address.
  • In-app swaps: Conversion between supported assets happens within the ZendWallet interface, without requiring a separate exchange account.
  • Stablecoin-to-local-fiat off-ramp: Instant conversion of USDC or USDT to NGN, KES, ZAR, or GHS with payout to local bank accounts. This is the platform's primary value proposition for African retail users.
  • Global business payments: ZendWallet Business allows African companies to pay international vendors in major fiat currencies by funding from their crypto or stablecoin balance.
  • Zend FX: A forex trading service extending the platform into currency exchange beyond crypto.
  • Mobile apps: Available on iOS (App Store, rated 4.6 out of 5) and Android (Google Play), developed by Zendwa Technologies Limited.
  • KYC and account verification: KYC is a required step for full account access, per the platform's FAQ documentation.
  • Referral program: A user growth layer embedded into the platform's account system.

Supported Assets

ZendWallet explicitly supports the following cryptocurrencies for deposit, swap, and withdrawal:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Tether (USDT)
  • USD Coin (USDC)
  • Binance USD (BUSD)
  • Solana (SOL)

For network infrastructure, the platform's own blog documentation references Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain (BEP20) as the underlying blockchain networks for wallet operations. SOL is listed as a supported trading asset, and ZendWallet publishes guides on swapping to SOL and sending it to Solana network wallets such as Phantom.

Solana Ecosystem Fit

ZendWallet's relationship with Solana is at the asset layer: the platform allows users to acquire SOL through in-app swaps from BTC, ETH, or USDT, and then send the resulting SOL to a Solana-native wallet such as Phantom for use in Solana DeFi, NFT marketplaces, and staking. The platform's blog explicitly covers this workflow step by step, highlighting Solana's speed and low transaction costs as reasons African users may want to hold or use SOL.

ZendWallet does not appear to operate native Solana smart contracts or on-chain programs — no program addresses are registered in its Solana Compass profile. Its Solana participation is therefore as an exchange entry point, serving users who want to buy and transfer SOL into the Solana ecosystem rather than as a protocol deployed on the Solana network.

Geographic Focus

ZendWallet is built explicitly for Africa. Its marketing, blog content, and product features center on Nigerian, Kenyan, South African, and Ghanaian users. Blog content covers country-specific stablecoin guides, international payment flows for African businesses, and roundups of leading crypto platforms across the continent. The platform's July 2026 X account activity from @zendhq continued to track African crypto regulatory developments, including WAEMU crypto regulation advances, Nigeria's tightening of P2P oversight, and cross-border fintech infrastructure expansion.

Team and Company

ZendWallet is developed by Zendwa Technologies Limited, registered and headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria (5 Bankole Street, Ishefun Ayobo, Lagos Ipaja, 100012). No specific founders or senior team members are named in publicly available sources.

Security

ZendWallet's own documentation describes "military-grade encryption," two-factor authentication (2FA), end-to-end encryption, and a self-custody model. No independent third-party security audit has been identified in public sources. Users should note that the platform requires KYC and operates as a centralized exchange, which differs architecturally from non-custodial wallets such as Phantom or Backpack.

Activity Status

As of July 2026, ZendWallet is active. The @zendhq X account posted on July 27, 2026. The blog continues to publish in 2026 and the iOS app remains listed on the App Store. The main website domain (zendwallet.com) did not serve readable content directly during research, but the blog and FAQ subdomains were responsive and current.
