About

SecuX Technology Inc

SecuX Technology is a Taiwanese hardware security company that builds cold-storage wallets and FIDO2 security keys around a CC EAL5+-certified Infineon secure element — making it one of the few hardware wallet makers to combine enterprise-grade key isolation with a large color touchscreen, NFT display, and direct WalletConnect access to Solana DApps.

Company Background

SecuX was incorporated in 2018 and is headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan, with regional offices in Los Angeles and Neuss, Germany. The company was co-founded by three technologists with deep backgrounds in semiconductor IP and digital imaging. Dr. Charles Hsu, Co-Founder and Board Director, is also the founder of eMemory Technology, a global leader in embedded non-volatile memory and Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) chip technology — expertise that directly informed SecuX's hardware security architecture. Chairman and Co-Founder Dr. Peter Chen previously founded AIPTEK International, a digital imaging firm that listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 2003. Dr. Gregory Chu is the third co-founder; Dr. Frank Lin serves as President overseeing day-to-day operations.

SecuX reports a seven-year hack-free record, holds ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system, and is a member of the FIDO Alliance. The company distributes through more than 80 resellers in over 100 countries, and its hardware has won the iF Design Award, Golden Pin Design Award, and European Product Design Award. By 2026, SecuX had expanded from consumer wallets into enterprise identity hardware, presenting at Bitcoin 2025 and InnoVEX 2026.

Product Line

W10 is the entry-level wallet — USB-only, no internal battery, same CC EAL5+ secure element and 2.8-inch touchscreen as the rest of the lineup. Suited for desktop-first users who do not need wireless connectivity.

W20 is the mid-range option. It adds Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless transaction signing and a Micro-USB port, and supports hidden wallet functionality via BIP39 passphrase.

V20 is the flagship consumer wallet. It replaces the W20's plastic housing with aluminum, upgrades the port to USB-C, and retains Bluetooth 5 and the large touchscreen. Supports over 10,000 coins and tokens across more than 300 blockchains including Solana.

Nifty and Nifty-X are purpose-built NFT hardware wallets priced at USD $199. The 2.8-inch, 360x240 color LCD touchscreen renders NFT artwork directly on the device, allowing users to confirm artwork, collection name, and token details on-screen before approving any transaction. The Nifty runs on a Nordic nRF52840 processor paired with the Infineon secure element, ships with an aluminum seed-phrase storage plate, and connects via Bluetooth 5 BLE to iOS 12+ and Android 6.0+. Battery life on the 600mAh cell extends to several months between charges.

Shield Bio is a card-sized cold wallet incorporating biometric fingerprint authentication, aimed at users who want a wallet form factor closer to a standard payment card.

X-SEED Series provides physical metal seed-phrase backup plates, sold separately from wallet devices.

Beyond wallets, SecuX offers two FIDO2 cybersecurity products. The PUFido Clife Key is a FIDO2/U2F-certified USB-C security key for passwordless authentication. The PUFido Drive Clife Key combines FIDO2 authentication with 128 GB of encrypted file storage in a single device — the company describes it as the first product of its kind. Both draw on eMemory's PUF technology, which generates a hardware-unique identity from chip manufacturing variations that cannot be cloned. SecuX also unveiled SecuAI 360 at InnoVEX 2026, a hardware-level security framework designed for autonomous AI systems, extending PUF-based identity into the AI agent and IoT space.

Security Architecture

All SecuX devices store private keys inside an Infineon SLE 97 Solid Flash secure element chip certified at CC EAL5+. This certification is evaluated against tampering, side-channel attacks, and fault injection under Common Criteria standards — the same assurance level applied to government-issued passports and identity documents. Private keys are generated and remain inside the chip; signed transactions leave the device, but raw key material does not.

Transaction verification happens on the device's touchscreen rather than on a connected computer or phone. A PIN entry screen uses a dynamically shuffled numeric keypad, varying physical button positions each session to defeat shoulder-surfing and recording attacks. After five incorrect PIN attempts, the device wipes. Seed backup uses a standard BIP39 24-word mnemonic; advanced users can add a BIP39 passphrase for plausible deniability via a hidden wallet.

One architectural tradeoff acknowledged by reviewers: SecuX devices are not fully air-gapped. Most models rely on USB or Bluetooth for transaction signing. Bluetooth is used only as a transport channel for signed transaction data; private keys are not transmitted wirelessly.

Devices carry an IP68 rating for waterproofing and dustproofing.

Solana Support

SecuX added Solana support across its V20, W20, and W10 wallet line in August 2022, adding native SOL management and SPL token sending and receiving with on-device transaction approval. Users manage Solana assets through the SecuXess web application via Chrome browser or the SecuX Wallet mobile app on iOS and Android.

In July 2025, SecuX released an app update adding Solana Token 2022 support, enabling users to store, send, and receive assets built on Solana's extended Token 2022 program — which underpins newer DeFi primitives, transfer-fee tokens, and confidential transfer use cases.

The Nifty hardware wallet extends Solana integration through WalletConnect, allowing direct connection to Solana DApps while keeping private keys offline. As of the June 2024 launch of this integration, supported Solana protocols include Magic Eden and Tensor for NFT trading, Jupiter for aggregated token swaps, Orca and Raydium for liquidity provision, and Marinade and MarginFi for liquid staking and lending. Users can stake, swap, and interact with DeFi protocols while verifying transaction details on the device screen before signing.

The Nifty also introduced on-device Solana NFT display — SecuX describes it as the first cold wallet to render Solana NFT artwork directly on the hardware.

Asset Coverage and Distribution

Across all models, SecuX supports over 10,000 coins and tokens spanning more than 300 EVM-compatible and non-EVM blockchains, with firmware updates delivered over-the-air. Devices are sold through the company's own website, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, as well as through authorized resellers.

Fit Within the Solana Ecosystem

SecuX occupies a specific niche in the Solana hardware wallet market: large color touchscreen for on-device transaction review, on-device NFT artwork rendering, and WalletConnect access to the Solana DeFi and NFT stack — all in a single retail device available through mainstream retail channels. For Solana NFT collectors and DeFi users who want to interact with major protocols without exposing private keys to browser extensions or mobile hot wallets, the Nifty provides a relatively direct path, accepting Bluetooth or USB connectivity as the tradeoff against full air-gap isolation.
